Product is amazing. Took a lot of hand muscles to put together tho. The screws were a bit tough to get through in the lid. Upon initial inspection I noticed Minor scratches on one drawer a small deeper one side panel but over all you can’t notice them once it’s all together and the one side panel is against the wall. The product is well built and sturdy. I like that the cabinet locks and that it makes you close one drawer before you can open another to prevent tipping. Definitely holds a ton of files with a lot of weight. If you cannot close your drawers all the way it’s because you need to press the drawer down in the slides more. I like that the instructions gave you a trouble shoot section. It helped me to determine that. Beware to note how the lid comes. I got ahead of myself and took the lock portion off and took a while to figure out how to put back together. I would definitely purchase again. I didn’t address the scratches with the seller because I took longer than a month to put together so outside return window. But I’m still very happy. ... show more

    • Nice cabinet - ONCE IT’S ASSEMBLED!
This was a bear to assemble! The installation video was helpful. However, a power screw driver with magnetic tip will cut assembly time and labor dramatically. Unfortunately, I only had a non-magnetic, ratchet screw driver, and starting those small screws took multiple attempts, each. And, they took a lot of torque to fully insert them. Having an extra pair of hands would have been helpful. There are gaps in the instructions, especially with regard to the locking mechanism. It took multiple attempts to get it right. Now that it’s assembled it is sturdy and attractive (for a file cabinet), and it fits nicely into the space I have allotted for it. BEWARE OF SHIPPING COST. I order so much from Amazon that I didn’t notice the high shipping cost - nearly $80. But, after checking on other cabinet options, I realized that is a common practice for such items. I’m thinking I could have bought one fully assembled locally for about the same cost, once the shipping cost is added. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. First off the instructions to build it were terrible. We had to find a video on youtube to help, secondly the material is extremely flimsy, no surprise to find one of the panels dented right off the bat when opening box. Secondly the drawers do not line up well, they are set in the tracks but do not close all the way. Such a waste of time! Do not buy, dealing with the 3rd party seller and all the back and forth was even more frustrating. ... show more

I’m surprised at how solid this is. It is sturdy and works perfectly for what I need it for. It’s attractive enough for what it is and was packaged well. It was also surprisingly easy to assemble. As others have mentioned, I was a little nervous to bend the tabs that have to be bent to put the drawers together, but it makes perfect sense, and they are very secure. I suppose if you were to bend and unbend them multiple times, it could stress the metal to the point of breaking off, which would be problematic, obviously. I went into this project with a bit of trepidation after going through a "simple" bunk bed build which turned into a whole day misadventure. But, as it turned out, this 59 year old arthritic woman who has never built a file cabinet before got it done without assistance in 2 hours. Naturally, I deviled myself and had to fix a couple of "should have watched the video a little more closely" mistakes. And by far the very best part about this cabinet is that is was forgiving of those mistakes and only required a couple of bolts being undone and redone correctly. Like some of the other commenters, my drawers would not shut completely, but that was quickly remedied by using the key to unlock the drawers so that they would shut. Overall, I am quite pleased with this cabinet, and should I need another, I will purchase another one of these. The file cabinet is best described as medium duty and weight -- it not commercial office grade -- and is perfectly suited to handle home office needs. I purchased the white cabinet, which is not a bright white, and has light gray undertones, so that it matches with everything (you can see the contrast between the white toe kick and the cabinet in the picture). The drawers slide smoothly, it comes with 2 keys, and looks very nice. It also can hold two rows of legal size folders facing outward, which was a big selling point for me. THE BEST THING YOU CAN DO TO SUCCEED IN BUILDING THIS CABINET IS TO WATCH THE VIDEO (IT IS POSTED AS ONE OF THE PHOTOS IN THIS AD). I watched it before starting the build, and then watched it frame by frame as I was building the cabinet, and believe that is why I was able to put this together relatively easily (again, the only issues I had, I caused).     • Difficult putting it together

What I like about the file cabinet it’s very sturdy and the price was right. What I disliked it was very hard to put together we literally had to take it apart twice. The instructions wasn’t clear only after going online we were able to put it together.
