Although this kit is awesome and does a fantastic job, the first thing I recommend is throw away the hammer and just use a carpenters hammer, worked outstanding. The reason for not using the included hammer is that the replaceable heads kept coming off no matter how tight I got them. Maybe if I had used some thread lock of some sort. The metal bar has a welded block on it and can take some beating. The entire bar is heavy duty and the tapered end came in handy with the tight space. I doubt this set will break but if it does, I am definitely purchasing this same kit. Those kits that you find at lumber stores does not and cannot compare. I can't say enough good about this product. If you need a laminate install tool set, this is the one. I have installed 4 laminate floors in my house, I wished I had this tool set on the first three as well. OK I'll stop the praise,,,, buy this set, you will be happy you did. ... show more

I used this to install rigid vinyl plank flooring. I've installed the flooring with only a rubber hammer in the past. This makes a huge difference. It makes the install much faster. Hammer - useless. Spacers - depends if you need them (I did not). Block - does the job, and is easier than block/hammer, but doesn't always fully seat the planks. Edge tool - most excellent, and why I gave this a four star v. three star review. It's heavy duty and works great ... wish the flat edge were just a bit thinner, but that's a nit. Overall, I wish I'd bought just the edge tool, but now I have more stuff in my tool box. ... show more

I recently finished installing about 1200 sq ft of flooring and baseboards. I was worried about the hammer and tapping board being too light or terrible quality, but I was pleasantly surprised they both felt great in hand and got the job done. Somewhere along the way, my old tap block tools disappeared. Of course, when I decided to install vinyl plank flooring in a basement office and a bathroom I needed a replacement. The reviews were very good for this kit, so I gave it a try and I was impressed. The tools are all well-made and significant upgrade from my previous kit especially the tap block and heavy pull bar. The pull bar has wedge end that was very useful to nudge some planks that were a bit too close to the wall. Using it as a pry bar, I able to move the plank enough to create the necessary space to position the pull bar. Additionally, the pull bar is nice and heavy which was helpful tapping the planks in place. I did not use the spacers but will add them to my collection of things that I will find useful one day, i.e. the junk drawer! ... show more
