I cannot believe I didn't know about this before I started getting serious about laser engraving/cutting. I used to use a thick piece of wood and put it underneath the material I am cutting, and because of that, I would get these obnoxious and disgusting scorch marks on the underside of my material. This honeycomb bed is the answer to my huge problem. To avoid scorch marks in your material, it will take some tweaking to find the right power and speed of your laser, but once you got it down, it looks fantastic. It really makes the pieces look so much cleaner. I got a 400x400 for my 500x500 laser because I wanted the bed to fit on the inside of the laser. I wish I got this sooner cause this really has made a huge impact in my laser cutting pieces. ... show more

As most people, I got this to protect the surface I'm engraving on. It seems to do that well as there is no damage to the table top after I've cut through anything on the laser. The protective metal sheet that it comes with is probably why. Excellent product.

This laser bed fits under my 40 cm by 40 cm (cutting area) desktop laser cutter without interfering with the legs or any other parts. Although the actual honeycomb surface is closer to 36 cm by 36 cm this is not an issue for me since I don't cut anything that large. I tape the sturdy heat absorbing plate to the bottom of the honeycomb so that I can move both as a single unit. ... show more
