I am amazed by how it turned out. I didn’t expect it to be this bright red as a brunette. There is zero filter in the images. I had some faded red color but it was very much faded. I used Loreal Chroma flame before but it didn’t turn out well, barely visible red. But magenta is everything I wanted.

I love this color so much, I always get compliments! 💗 My hair is naturally black/very dark brown. This photo is after several hair washes, I normally wash with cold water and freshen up the color with red tinted shampoo!

If you have dark hair, this will definitely work for your hair. I use 30 volume developer with this and color my hair twice. My dark hair went from brown/black to red. It's not a bright red but it's red and noticeable. Second time I've used this to color my hair red. When it fades and you color it again, it does get brighter. Use less developer volume and trim those dead ends. Don't leave on hair too long if you are going over it after your hair has faded. ... show more

I tired to dye my hair the way it is right now about two month ago. At that time I ordered HiColor Reds "Red Hot" but it didn't work the way I wanted - it was super dark red, not that visible, and I wanted bright. (second pic is "before", first is "after"; in "before" you almost can't see the red) So this time I ordered HiColor Highlights "Magenta" and it worked perfectly! It is way brighter in front at the roots, because my hair was dyed lots of times, and my real color is light brown; and it's darker closer to the ends, but it's making a perfect gradient! I used 1:2 dye to 30 developer. After washing my hair 5 times already, the water is still lightly red, but I expected that. Be careful! it does stain the skin (and stings a little at the beginning), I was able to wash it off completely only on the second wash. Anyway, I like it very much! (4 stars because even though it says "for dark hair only", you want have the bright red color unless your hair is light brown) ... show more
