I recently purchased the Kobotix Real Racer, and it has been a blast to use. Whether using the VR feature or not, the racing experience is fresh and exciting. Being able to sit "inside" your racer through the VR headset offers a new take on RC racing. Since VR isn't recommended for kids 12 or 13 and under, my son only played with it for a short while, which meant I got to enjoy it even more (I mainly bought it for myself anyway!). The Quest addition is a nice feature if you already own a VR headset, but if you don't, no worries— a case that turns your phone into a VR headset is included. I'm not a fan of strapping my cell phone to my face for long periods, so I turn off my cellular data before playing. With short bursts of use, it works out well. The packaging was top-notch, and the racer itself is pretty quick. It doesn't run well on thick carpet, so be aware that you'll need tile or wood for the best play experience. I wish it had a 3D camera setup to establish depth in the VR experience, but hopefully, that's something for a future update. Does this car need a camera and VR headset? No. It can function on its own as a cute lil regular remote control car without the app. Does the VR headset make it worth the money? You bet it does! The headset adjusted to a variety of head sizes quickly and easily, and the camera quality on the car was stellar. I was zipping and zooming through my house in no time, chasing my cats around the table with ease. My toddler daughter can play with it easily with the simple controls on its own, and I can geek out to the VR feature. Everything on this car is easy to use: easy to unpack, easy to customize to my (or my daughter's) driving style, easy to set up the VR, and great maneuverability. This thing is zippy, so I turned the speed down until I am used to it. So far it is proving to be durable, it has taken a beating and shows little wear (because toddlers, amiright?). I read about the new Meta Quest support for the Real Racer product and being a VR enthusiast, wanted to give it a try. The premise is really interesting - basically you have this little remote control car that you can drive around your home in the physical world, but you do this from within a virtual cockpit seen from the Meta Quest VR headset. It’s the only product I’m aware of that combines the physical and virtual worlds in such an interesting way. When you put on the Quest headset and fire up the Real Racer XR app, you’re transported into the race car cockpit. The detailing is really impressive, and there are various controls on the virtual dashboard that respond to actual real world driving conditions (tachometer, G-force gauge etc). The windscreen of the virtual cockpit shows the real-time video feed broadcast from the remote control car, so as you’re driving around you see everything from the perspective of the car. The best part is that you control the actual RC car in the physical world using the virtual steering wheel, which you grasp and rotate using the Quest controllers. It’s incredibly immersive, giving you the feeling that you’re really sitting in the bucket seat of this RC car, racing around your living room. Carro inservible, llegando baje la aplicasion intente muches veces activarlo siguiendo los pasos de conepcion y al final no conepto, el siguiente dia trade de encerderlo y la batería muerta puse acargar la batería y al marcar Verde la conepte al vehiculo y nada, segui tratando pero es impossible. al llegar da la impression que es una buena compra la caja y el control se ven muy bien el carro esta sencillo de plástico y creo lo mucho que baldria pagar en buenas condisiones $60 hasi es que si lo quieres comprar ten encuenta mi problema y si te funsiona creo no será por mucho tiempo me da la impression que es la batería o el carro no se, lo que se que es caro y me molesta mucho Pender el tiempo en hacer devolusiones, compre otro carro más barato más grande con doble batería camara y fue muy fasil la conepcion al Wifi lo malo la camara con baja resolusion ... show more

I ordered this as a gift for my niece as she loves cars. Being able to drive this car in VR is so cool, and way beyond what I expected. You actually get to steer with an actual steering wheel which is a completely novel experience and way better (in my opinion) for kids new to RC cars than the traditional controls. It's responsive and watching my dog try to get the car in first person mode is incredibly entertaining. ... show more

I think the camera position would do wonders for this car. It's not very fast and the angle is really low. If raised I think it would allow for a more enjoyable experience and the vehicle could be sped up without causing any negative experiences in motion sickness.
