Now 90% of our door knobs do not need a child cover on them so only one I have noticed the bronze coming off in a little ring where the child safety is. By my mistake I thought it was black, but it was very easy to install and feels solid when I turn it to open the door. It was very simple and you just needed a phillips head. The only tricky part is getting the screws in behind the knob so you need a shorter phillips
