The knives are pretty sharp. Good variety. But i was misled and the package when it arrived clearly said not to wash in the dishwasher. That was one of the main sellers points for me. And german made was implied, but they are from PRC.

Really nice knife set! This came within two days of Amazon prime it looks really nice. It’s a very beautiful knife set an all of the pieces work accordingly. They’re very sharp so be careful. This set is really well-made, and the sleek classic black is beautiful

Everything about these I hate. Came extremely dirty. Damaged, scratched, they feel very cheap to top it all off. No doubt returning. Do not buy these.

Full disclosure: as a Vine reviewer, I received these for free in exchange for an honest review. I'm under no obligation to give these a favorable review. On to the review: At their regular price point, I would say these knives offer a reasonable value ($69.99 at the time of this review). While it's hard to write a review after having them for such a short period, these are my initial thoughts. I may try to update the review after a while, as I think how long knives *stay* sharp is an important deciding factor. The knives are very attractive and look nice in or out of the block. The knives themselves seem to be of decent construction; they teeter right on the edge of being light enough to feel cheap and heavy enough to feel like it's quality construction. It seems to me that the handles are hollow, which probably contributes to them feeling too light for something of steel construction. However, I admittedly like having knives a little on the heavier side. They also seem to be reasonably sharp, though are by no means razor-sharp. The santoku and chef knives were great for cutting veggies, but I was a little disappointed with the sharpness of the bread knife. I haven't yet had the chance to try out the steak knives. The knife block has a good weight and feels well-constructed. If I'm going to be super nit-picky, then my one complaint about the block is that the cutouts for the steak knives don't seem to be level with one another, so the knives don't sit in a perfectly straight line when in the block. I honestly hovered between a 3 and 4 on this one and ultimately landed on 4. I erred on the side of 4 because I know that this isn't meant to be a high-end set of knives, but is soundly slotted in the budget market. It can't reasonably be expected to have grade-A craftsmanship at this price point. If that's what you're looking for, then you're going to have to spend a good 2.5 to 3 times more on higher quality set. However, if you're looking for a decent knife set without breaking the bank, this could be a good option. ... show more
