After evaluating a bunch of different budget knife block sets, I purchased these. Major Pros: Includes an 8" slicer/carving knife + an 8" bread knife + larger santuko knife (rather than a small one.) Those were non-negotiable for me. ALL the budget-priced sets on Amazon have rust warnings and most have cracked handle warnings, so all seemed equal in that regard. The product that arrived looks exactly like the photo. The knives have a good, balanced weight and ergonomic handle. They look nice and feel good in the hand. Sharp? Terrific. We haven't used them long enough to evaluate their longevity. Cons. There is only one and it's not the fault of the manufacturer. There is not enough clearance under the cabinets to pull the knives out of the block. We have 17" vertical space. My old Chicago Cutlery set was angled perfectly. When shopping, I purposely avoided buying vertical blocks because our tiny apartment kitchen has no counter space without cabinets above. This set has an angled block, but not angled enough. So we will have to slide the knife set out from under the cabinet to access the longer knives. Annoying, but I am happy otherwise and will keep them. ... show more

Prob not going to be the world's best knives but they fit well with our new white kitchen. Very sharp out of the box. We'll see how they endure. Packaging was fine.

These knives cut great and seem to be made well. Sturdy ergonomic grip that doesn't seem slippery when wet. The block is heavy and the knife slots go all the way through allowing water to drain out of the bottom if knives are put away wet. These are NOT Damascus steel as the photos would have you believe. The blade is covered in a digital print that mimics a much higher quality steel. After a month of use the markings are beginning to fade away. Knife set is pretty nice. They are sharp and the quality is fine. What bothers me is upon closer inspection these knifes are not Damascus steel. They are laser engraved fake Demascus pattern which is disappointing. It wouldn’t be a problem except I don’t like people who lie and false advertise to sell things. Other than that, for being fake demascus they are still an acceptable purchase for the style. ... show more

i’ve never washed sharp knives in my dish washer! hand wash and dry right right away after use. we’ve had them for a year with no problems, but if you put them in the dishwasher you will get rust spots! (nothing a little steel scrubby cant fix)

    • Two weeks and already have rust
These are very pretty. The whole set is but I’ve only owned this set about two weeks and discovered today that the knives already have rust on them. I’ve used them for normal use with dinner and washed them in the dishwasher and all the knives I’ve used so far have rust spots.
