I ordered this product as a versatile piece to help my 3.5 YO daughter learn to swim for the first time. I especially love the that is adjustable, has a snap (rather than Velcro) closure, is colorful but unobtrusive with a minimalist profile, and most importantly has the ability to take off foam layers one by one as young swimmers gain confidence. I was eager to try this with my daughter at the beach, but she did not feel very confident with it around her, and did not understand that it would still support her since it was only on her back. I was impressed, however that this can be adjusted to fit very petite children. The label says ages 2 and up, and I agree with that. My daughter is 38 inches tall but only 28 pounds, so very slender, and this can be adjusted to fit her perfectly. I would definitely recommend this for older children (or more bold) who have more experience in the water. I can see where it would be an excellent tool to help them with their form, as I am a strong swimmer myself. ... show more
