    I got this smart lock set to replace a different smart lock that had the motor go bad on it. I initially had issues installing this lock. My door opens from the right and when I finished installing the lock, locking the deadbolt would unlock and unlocking would actually lock the deadbolt. There is a switch in the back that has L/R on it. Thinking this meant left and right opening direction, I tried to set it to R without any success. Truth be told, I was getting frustrated after fiddling around with the lock for over an hour. After a quick message to the seller, which prompted a rapid response and easy solution, I finally got the lock to operate in the right direction. Thanks to the seller for the prompt response in answering my questions. The lock works very well. The fingerprint reader is super quick and takes less than a second 10 out of 10 times without any failures. Registering fingerprints, keycards and passcodes are done quick and easy within the app. Zero complaints there. For those getting this lock in the future, make sure you fully install the lock onto your door before putting the batteries in. The lock has a self detection feature that automatically detects which direction the door opens from by quickly running the motor on first start and detecting resistance. If you put the batteries in before the lock is fully installed, it will detect the door opens from the left and would require a reset by pressing the button on the PCB in the back of the interior unit. You will get a prompt asking for initialization passcode, which is "0000" then tap unlock on the number pad on the exterior side of the lock. ... show more

      • Setup Was an Absolute Nightmare
    IF YOUR LOCK ONLY WORKS ONE WAY, READ THIS. This keyless entry door lock/handle combo is easily one of the most aesthetically pleasing locks I’ve come across. The app is smooth and simple to use, and I appreciate the audible locked/unlocked alerts. It makes it easy to know the status of the door without physically looking at it. I truly believe this could have easily been a 5-star product, but the setup process was an utter nightmare. The installation was pretty straightforward and quick. There were no issues with binding, and everything went according to plan. That is until I tried using it. The lock would only turn into the door, never into the locked position. The only way to lock it was manually. I figured it might be because it was set up for a right-hand door, while mine is a left-hand door. The item description on Amazon explicitly states that it works on either side of the door. So, I thought there had to be a way to adjust it, but that’s when the trouble started. I scoured the manual four times, followed the instructions exactly, and even uninstalled and reinstalled the lock twice. Still, the same issue persisted. I did a factory reset nearly 10 times with no results. There was also supposed to be 24-hour customer support (as stated in the item description), but no contact details were provided in the booklet. It was incredibly frustrating, so I put the lock aside for a few days and used it manually, hoping for some sort of breakthrough. On day four, I went back to the manual again just to cover all my bases. I performed another factory reset and even went a step further by taking the lock apart. After completely disassembling it, I found a switch on the deadbolt’s circuit board labeled "L" and "R." It was set to “R,” so I switched it to “L,” assuming it meant left-hand doors. After putting everything back together and performing another factory reset, I was sure this HAD to fix the issue. It didn’t, the problem was still there. At this point, I was about ready to throw the lock away. That’s when I reached out to customer service through Amazon. Although it wasn’t as easy as finding a number in the booklet, the response time was incredibly fast. The customer service rep was polite and seemed genuinely concerned, but when I asked how to get it working for a left-hand door, their response was simply, “Our locks just know which side your door swings.” I told the rep that this wasn’t the case. They then sent me some instructions to reset it again (which I had already done numerous times). But after following them to the letter, the lock still didn’t work. Again, out of pure frustration, I gave up on trying. A few days later, I decided to give it one last shot and ACCIDENTALLY figured out the solution. In the instructions, all the steps involve the deadbolt being in the unlocked position. It even states to make sure it’s in the unlocked position, so of course, that’s what I had been doing. But after trying literally everything, I accidentally left the deadbolt in the locked position, removed a battery, waited 10 seconds, put the battery back in, and once it was ready, I pressed the lock/unlock button. And finally, it worked. The problem was that this crucial step was never mentioned in the manual. If it had been or if the rep had been aware of it, I would have avoided all the frustration. Needless to say, NO the lock does NOT "just know". If I had known this from the start, I would have saved a lot of time and headaches. While the lock eventually worked, the lack of clear instructions, especially for something as simple as deadbolt positioning, makes me hesitant to recommend this product.
