Better than I expected. It's front heavy so mount it to the wall or floor with screws, anchors or double back tape so the heavy duty door doesn't make it tip forward when opened. Comes fully assembled! Heavy but light enough for you to get it upstairs by yourself if need be. Holds 5 rifles tightly. A scoped rifle will take up 2 spaces as you will need to turn it sideways to close the door. Plenty tall Inside for any normal rifle or shotgun. Separate top safe (key entry only, doesn't unlock with lower safe keypad) top safe holds about 10 pistols or a few pistols plus ammo boxes, papers, cash, etc.. Carpeted interior plus led lighting is a nice bonus. Overall a great value. This is a slim and tall safe not a giant beefy vault so check the dimensions to make sure it's right for you. Pros: Inexpensive & free shipping Really does fit 4-5 rifles like it says Key backup to open in case batteries fail Decent sturdiness if you mount it very securely to a solid object (studs, concrete, etc) Con: Compartment above requires a key to access. Wish it unlocked with the main door unlock. Have to hit the # button both before and after the code is entered After opening, the turned handle often wants to droop back to the downward position, extending the security bars back out and preventing the door from re-closing. I then have to enter the code again, to disengage the bars, so I can close the door and re-engage them after closing. There is probably a way for me to make the handle turn operation stiffer so it can stay unlocked on it's own when I let go, but I have not explored that yet. Overall, a good purchase and I feel relatively secure keeping my guns in this safe. It is not fire-proof, but does allow me to lock up some guns and valuables. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I don't have a crazy arsenal and I live in a small house. Space is a big issue. This gun locker is perfect for my needs. I can fit about 500 rounds of ammo in the top locker along with some important papers .The rifle locker fits about 5 long weapons, with out optics. I have two long guns and had to position them so my optics wouldn't be hit by the door. But really isn't a big deal for me . I only have two weapons that need to be secure in this locker. I didn't like the anchor bolts they provided. A trip to the hardware store got me a better set. The light that comes with it isn't the greatest. I got some battery sick on lights for the inside of the locker and for the closet. You'll need better lighting for sure.The key pad doesn't light up and can be hard to see in a dark space. The key pad is easy to use . The keys are smooth and durable. For the money, it's not bad. Perfect for appartments, and small homes with one to three long guns. ... show more

This safe is even better than I expected for the price. It arrived very quickly and just in time for my son's birthday. It was packaged very well, almost too well but it definitely protected the safe. It took a little work to get it unpacked. The safe was fully assembled, all I had to do was put batteries in where they needed to be. It is made with high quality steel and seems to be tamper proof. I don't think anyone would be able to pry it open. It also has pre drilled holes to be bolted down to avoid any stealing the whole safe. It can be opened with keys, fingerprint and electronic password. Both the small cabinet up top and the bigger cabinet open with separate keys. We are using the small cabinet to store pistols, ammo and cash. My son can fit all 5 of his rifles/shotguns in the safe with no problem. I really like that it has a light inside that comes on when you open the door. I am so glad I bought this safe and my son loves it too. I will most likely be buying another one for my daughter as she grows her gun collection. ... show more

    • Numbers stopped lighting up on keypad

Loved it until the numbers on the keypad stopped lighting up after 7 months. Other lights are lighting up in the keypad but not the numbers. Makes it very hard to see the numbers without a light. Forget about opening this up quickly in an emergency.
