It was easy to use right out of the box! I didn’t have a battery for the underside light so I improvised and my granddaughter was using it immediately.

Yes this is easy to use but it’s very cheap plastic. Got this cheap thing to see if my 8 yr old is even interested in a microscope. While teaching her how to use it, she broke it in less than 5 minutes. I would recommend it to have a young one practice being careful/gentle with a microscope since losing $17 is a lot less painful than losing $200. Do not recommend for older kids or adults. ... show more
