The media could not be loaded. Packaged very well. No damages out of the box. Used the included AC adapter and it worked perfectly! Very quiet and doesn't slam shut quickly which is one thing I was worried about. It's hard taking a chance buying things online sometimes when you aren't able to physically see/test it out for yourself first but I can say I am very pleased with this trashcan. Upon taking it out of the box it seemed SLIGHTLY smaller than I envisioned in my head but the more I stare at it the more the size is actually growing on me lol. It's actually a little taller than my current trashcan and I think the rectangular shape makes it look "smaller" at first glance because it's not as wide as the trashcans I've been accustomed to. We've always had a round or oval shaped trashcan but this rectangular shape allowed us to neatly "tuck it away" in between our counter and bakers rack so it actually ended up being a spacesaver! Can't review yet as far as the odor control since we just hooked it up but we've never really had a huge problem with odor before because we change our trashbags out regularly so I don't anticipate any odor especially with the odor filter. It shows the AC adapter and filter on the picture so I thought it included an ADDITIONAL filter but it does not. It includes 1 activated carbon odor filter in a sealed plastic bag, the trashcan, the sensor trash can lid (with the odor filter compartment you can slide on/off), trash bag retainer ring, AC adapter and user manual. ... show more

I’m glad I bought a version with the AC adapter instead of having to rely on batteries. The motion detection works well and the kids get a kick out of it. This garbage can is aesthetically pleasing and goes well in our home. Recommended thus far!

We’ve always wanted an automatic opening trash can (I know, big adult dreams) and we managed to get this one on sale. It is small enough to not hold a heavy trash bag but lasts us a good amount of time between taking out the trash. I don’t know about the battery function and how long they last, we didn’t even want to try it. But we love that it has the power cord. It works great. Admittedly, we do have to get fairly close to the sensor for the lid to open, but it honestly doesn’t bother us much since we just make the motion of putting the trash in the can and it opens in the process. The lid closing scares my husband’s cat, which is also a funny thing to see every day. ... show more

    • No touch garbage can makes kitchens tidy
This product works great and has served me well for 4 years. Sometimes the motion sensor is a little too sensitive - when walking past for example. And sometimes it's not sensitive enough especially if you have something clear (plastic) in your hand that you're trying to throw out. Overall though, it does what it says it does and helps keeping my kitchen tidy/mess free. Recently the opener stopped working. The lights still worked for motion and the buttons still triggered the lights to turn on. Since it was way out of warranty I decided to take it apart to see if I could determine the issue. BEFORE TAKING APART...MAKE SURE YOU TAKE PICTURES OF THE POSITION OF THE LIFT ARMS WHILE THE LID IS OPEN AND THE GEAR HOUSING!! I suspected the motor had gone bad. I used a voltmeter and determined this to be true. Luckily, Amazon sells the exact same motor (2 motors for $10 at the time of writing): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BFY8THZM?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details I wired the new motor in and tested the buttons and the motor spun!! The hardest part was getting everything back together and getting the spring tension correct so the lid would stay in the open position. It took a little trial and error but in less than an hour the lid was working again. Good product, not faulting the company at all, motors die. If you're handy and have the tools you can easily fix this and save yourself $75 (price of a new sensor lid). ... show more

    • Glitchy from start. Died after 1 year
UPDATE. 1 YEAR AND A MONTH LATER It is completely malfunctioning. Opens when it wants stinking the whole house up. I close it and walk away, 10 seconds later, it opens up again and the buttons don’t work anymore so I have to manually close it. Automatic opening barely works. Waste of money. This is my first automatic lid trash can, but I'm not super thrilled with it for a few reasons and I probably would do better with a smaller size. - As a one person household, it takes longer for trash to accumulate, therefore food rot has been a huge issue - The lid is seals it up so tight, that it's a constant breeding ground for maggots which get all in to every nook and cranny - The nooks and crannies!...omg, so messy to clean up esp if maggots have formed. They get all in to the battery compartment (which I don't use - mine is plugged in. The screws on the underside were rusted after first use - that's how tightly it seals and moisture forms very quickly inside. - The odor absorber packet is pretty useless. I left a review on the refills page, but they really only last 1-2 trash changes for me, and what's worse is that once it absorbs the odor, it doesn't block it, it amplifies it. SO, i end up having to toss the packet after the 2nd use or the whole house smells like two trash bags ago! lol - The motion detectors are a bit touchy too. IF there's direct light facing it, it will not respond most of the time. I've had to stand in front to cast a shadow in order for it to respond at night. It's never and issue during the day. Functionally, I do like this product, but I'm thinking i just needed to find a smaller capacity. There are some quality control issues like the early rusting screws and the plug in the back (i'm not using batteries). Every time I have to remove the lid to change the bag, i have to unplug the back and the whole plug in box comes out dangling from it's internal wires! Have to pull plug out carefully for this not to happen. ... show more
