In the great war between man vs. cat, there is and almost always must be an escalation of arms. The cats, our clever foes, consistently think of new ways to utilize their fantastic natural endowments to irritate humanity to ever-reaching heights. Man must strike back. We lack the stealth, patience, razor sharp claws, night vision and supreme agility to overcome the cats in a standoff of direct physical confrontation... but unbeknownst to the cats, we DO outwit them in our cunning. By extracting the compressed, liquefied remains of our ancestors and refining them, we produce a cheap-yet-durable material that we have dubbed "plastic." It can be made both rigid and soft, and it's appearance and form are eminently and easily configurable. It is also impenetrable by domestic cat claws. I put in one bag of 8.5 lb of cat food and there's a liiiittle bit of room yet at the top. It seems sturdy, the lid isn't hard to open but also won't come open on its own so our cat hasn't figured it out...yet 😅

I had to buy a 16 lb. bag of cat food because I needed a special formula. I have a container that's pourable and that one holds a 7 lb. bag. So I bought hits container hoping that it would fit the other half of the bag and it does! It holds about 9-10 lbs. of dry cat food which was exactly what I needed. The latch keeps the container closed tightly so that the food does not get stale. And I was able to pour it into my container that I pour from with no problems. ... show more

I got this to seal away my cat food as cat food can draw ants easily. So this seals and prevents the scents that attract them and keeps his food fresher then if just rolls up the open bag. My cat however is too smart and learned that you need to flip up the part on the lid to open it. he's strong too so he actually was able to paw that ampatt up and open it. So if you want a really strong sealing container for pets be aware it's not open proof for pets with smarts lol. if you put it away where they can't reach like I did it'll be fine ... show more

These are great for storing cat food or pantry items and they are certainly small enough to place on the shelf. Not sure how long they will hold up with daily use with animal food as they aren’t very sturdy.
