Good thermometer, reads very quickly and appears to be as accurate as my other thermometers. The unit I received had an adhesive sticker that left a residue. However, the company reached out and offered to make it right and was very responsive. They have changed their manufacturing processes to address this concern and other concerns raised in some of the other reviews. ... show more

This thermometer is worth its price - it is super simple to use and makes the fastest measurements - a huge plus in my book. No more having to hold the thermometer for a minute or even more while it finally reaches the temperature. Great device and great buy, IHMO...

This is a very nice product. It works as advertised. It appears to be reasonably well made too. I'd give it 5 stars, but I have a few gripes that force me to subtract 1 star: 1) Price. While it appears to be pretty well made and is quite attractive in appearance, it doesn't quite have the feel and heft of a $109 gadget. It is at least twice the price of any other pro-level, instant-read thermometer available on Amazon. Hopefully it will provide years of accurate, durable, reliable use, befitting of its hefty price tag. 2) The screw on the battery compartment cover gave me fits. It took a little more elbow grease than I expected to get it to turn, making me more than a bit concerned that I might strip the screw. 3) The "Careful it's sharp" warning label affixed to the probe itself was practically *glued* on. I had to carefully use a razor blade to get it off, and even then, there was a lot of residual adhesive and bits of the label stuck to the probe--and under my thumbnail too! I had to take out my Goo Gone adhesive remover to clean the probe of the adhesive and leftover bits of label, and also to extract the crap out from under my thumbnail...these are NOT steps I wanted or needed to take to put this thing into service! Jeez! Anyway, I'll update this review after I get a few months of use out of the Typhur InstaProbe. ... show more

For the money and the product claims, I was disappointed. The first time I used it was when cooking a ribeye steak. The steak was about 3/4” thick. I stuck the probe in several places and the readings were way different. I thought to myself, maybe it was human error after all it was the first time I used it. I thought to myself maybe I was sticking the probé too far in as to touch the pan. That’s a possibility, so I used another three times. Same thing, crazy inconsistent readings. I don’t want to put the unit down maybe I just got a bad unit so I returned it. Perhaps you’ll have better luck. Update: After I returned the product I was contacted by their customer service. I have to admit that I found this very strange because I’ve had to return many products over the years and this was the first time anyone has reached out to me with an attempt to make it right. So they shipped me a replacement and the unit worked like a charm. As advertised it gave me super fast consistent readings. My ribeye steaks came out perfect! Without a doubt, this is the best temp probe I’ve ever used. On top of that one of the best customer experiences I’ve ever had. Great job Typhur! ... show more
