  • Good for its functionality but horrible when it comes to programming.
As known as these are developers should invest in their websites and software. They need to keep up with the ever growing technology. Why can't they make a new app for it that would make it easier to program it? It was a real pain in the butt programming this thing. Internet explorer without Javascript and active x makes it an afwul and long process. Seriously 2020 this should be easier to flash and upgrade. I'm telling you right now of you're not a computer savvy you will have a hard time like I just did. It took me 3 hours to program it. And I know my way around a computer. INTERNET EXPLORER. REALLY? Guys. If you're planning on buying this make sure you can install the IE Tab extension before hand. You can access it through Chrome but a lot of research went into it. A lot of downgrading going on. Embed this into your head 'NET framework 2.0' . This will come handy. Another thing to keep in mind is you need a special cable to program your Blade AL through your remote start module. It cost around 40 bucks at walmart. Pissed off right now. Save yourself a headache and have a professional install it. ... show more

  • Pricey, but oh so worth it
This product made the installation so much easier than with a standard bypass. Cartridge slid into remote start unit and was easily programmed via USB cable which needed to be purchased separately but was worth every penny. It was nice to avoid running extra wires and not having to have another bulky box to try to hide under the dash. I will be using this for all of my future installs as it was a huge time saver and also has the ability to be updated on the fly via USB cable. ... show more

  • 2008 forester does not need the blade
Web site showed it would work for my car thats why i ordered it. When trying to install instructions said to connect to immobilizer circuit. After hours of research and oem wiring diagrams saying where the immobilizer module was i called idata and they stated my car did not have the immobilizer circuit. I have a 2008 Subaru forester x. 2005 x and all xt models have immobilizer circuit ... show more

  • Use Weblink Desktop to flash
Every other comment complains about flashing the Blade unit with internet explorer. Well luckily, that isn't the case anymore. I used the Weblink Desktop app and it worked great to flash the remote start. I used the blade al with the cs4900s and everything worked good. On 2011 ram 1500. Only needed a few wires. CAN Hi, CAN Lo, Ignition, and multiplex parking light. Obviously need power and ground to the main remote starter. I really hate that the UART cable is 60$. Uart cables cost 1.50 on ebay, but they put their own connector on it and sell it at insane markup. Only really worth it for dealers and not the average DIYer but whatever. ... show more

  • Don’t waste your money
Easy enough to install, plug and play and just one wire. However their install guide is lacking and their support is non-existant. I don’t know what I expected from a company that only allows you to flash your firmware through IE 32bit. Just bypass it the old school way and save yourself the time and frustration. ... show more

  • Need a data cable to program
This was easy to install because it just plugs into the unit, the unit itself was a nightmare to install. Also should be more clear that you need a data cable to program or, would be nice if they provided one with it or at least told you that you need to order one

  • Easy to install by a professional
My son has loved this in his car. He can start his car from the school, totally out of site, and it starts every time. He also likes the audible notification that the car has started, instead of only a blinking light. That audible sound is LOUD. We can easily hear it throughout our house. He said everyone looks at him funny at school when his pocket is loudly beeping. :-D Great product. Worth every penny. ... show more
