The directions are confusing and overly complicated. I even made cheat notes because I was worried about the limited time allowed to complete the process for each key. I didn't need to be so stressed as it turns out. It's simple, though the directions are not. Be sure you understand each step, then complete each step and it is simple. I ordered a set of 2 keys for under $30 and this package came with 1. So I made 3 keys in about 5 minutes. I think it's best you do the same. This will keep the process fresh and fluid so you don't waste money on a goof up. Besides, it's still cheaper to make 3 this way, than to get 1 made by the dealer. You will still need to visit a locksmith to cut the hard key as backup in case of a dead battery. Excellent, cheap and worth it for sure. ... show more

I was skeptical about this purchase, however given the alternative I decided to go with it. I used my $320 professionally done key to program this one. It was fairly simple. All the buttons work well. It also has a good range. It looks just like the original key. It loses points for the durability as the key fob fell and now it has a little space down the side. The problem I found was that the instructions do not match what is in the box. It references looking for lights to confirm the action, but there are no lights! I simply assumed it was OK. It is a bit tedious to go through the instruction manual and find the correct code sequence to use. It took me two tries however I got it. The manufacturer should rewrite the manual to match the product. For the physical key inside, I went to the hardware store and had the key cut for less than $10. ... show more

    • Works and works with non "Simple Key(s)"
Was a little skeptical despite good reviews. Once it arrived and I read on the back "If your vehicle came with a push to start ignition, this Simple Key is not compatible with your vehicle" I simply thought this key would not work. After all, does that mean push button feature won't work or NOTHING will work? I emailed the company and heard back within a few business hours. They requested order confirmation and photo of original key fob and confirmed it should work fine but I was welcome to return it. Customer service was prompt and friendly. Here I go! Process was quick and easy, straight forward and remote works! There is no "proximity" features like original remote as expected. Fine, no worries. Also, before I contacted customer service, I checked the website for exact product and it stated that EVERYTHING including push button start will work except "proximity." That's not true. Push button does NOT work nor does proximity as expected. I did purchase a package of two fobs from another seller on Amazon which I did not need but now I have 4 working fobs. So, yes, non Simple Key fobs will work with same instructions that came with programmer. I was confused as directions referenced an indicator light on remote and you'll think, there is no indicator light but there is. Tiny, can't see it unless it's lit up at the "4 corner" junction. The extra fobs I have did NOT have a light but directions still worked. Hope that helps. ... show more

    • Customer Service was Excellent!
I purchased this kit to create a replacement and some spares for our 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan. I ran into some trouble when I was trying to clone our original key settings, but a quick call to customer service was all it took! The tech was friendly, responsive, and most importantly - very quick to diagnose the problem and recommend a solution. She advised that I turn off the radio and all the other vehicle accessories (A/C, wipers, etc.) as those sometimes interfere with loading the code onto the new key. That was all it took to get me through it and the keys are working great! The keys do seem to be made of lighter material than our factory original, however I know that heavy does not always mean stronger. So far these are holding up just fine. I was able to get this tool to work with keys from other vendors as well (I wanted more keys than what comes with this kit, and our van has a different button configuration than the ones in this kit) so that was also a big win. So I'd say 9/10. Quality of the keys could probably be a wee bit better, but if I needed to I'd buy these again without hesitation. ... show more

    • Great product with semi-vague instructions.
It took a while to figure out how to run the activation sequence (not the best instructions) but once figured out it worked amazingly well, saving hundreds from what the dealer wanted to charge. The free included key was a nice feature, as wall. Programmed my keys and the key that they supplied.

This is very simple and I am glad that I bought it. I had one key and it was a nightmare to start my car. Replacing the FOB and getting a second one would be $300 a piece. I was skeptical buying the Simple Key hoping it would atleast get me a key that worked to start my car. Super easy to program (find a YouTube video) on a 2010 Town & Country, took me 5min and have two new fully working fobs (bought an extra to program for $10). Saved me a lot of $$$$

Instruction was clear and easy to follow. Worked right away after paired with my van. The only flaw I noticed was that it doesn't work at your first try when you use it after long term. I don't know how to explain this but every morning when I unlock the door, it doesn't work at first try. After that, it works great but only the first use in the morning or first use after a while it seems like it doesn't work... Maybe it needs time to recognize the signal? but this has been my case. Overall for what you pay for second car key, this is a great option. ... show more
