Bought this as a safer replacement for autozone spring compressors. I took the tool a bit farther then necessary to test and it held up well doing strut coils for a BMW X3. Replaced a couple cheap 4.8 grade structural bolts with 10.9’s but otherwise left as is. Is worth the price for the benefit of safety and not having to take the struts to a shop. ... show more

    • NOT HYDRAULIC! Cheap materials.
This thing is not hydraulic! It is essentially a screw jack. It has no way to lock the handle at any given point. Not impressed. Highly dangerous.

    • Great tool for the money
I bought this the change springs on Fox UTV shocks. The tool works great on the front shocks as it is designed. It’s a little short to do the rear shocks. I make a slight modification and it work fantastic after that. I would definitely recommend this tool.

The one I got was made mostly of real metal,not pot metal. I've had trouble finding one that would compress the spring on my bmw, with sport package. I had a little bit of trouble getting it done but was able t o do it with relatively safety. Love the way the strut clamps in the tool and its made to where the spring won't jump out and break any bones. Plus the adjustability of the components.2 things I didn't like ,one was the red knob at the top kept wanting to screw off. The other was there is only 1 bolt that holds the bottom plate to the cylindrical part that mounts to it. When trying to tighten down on the strut spring, the whole peice wanted to turn. With someone with a welder and welding experience ,it would be an easy fix though. ... show more

    • Spend a Little More Elsewhere.
It was pretty easy to assembly. How ever, not the best material was used to make this product. I did want something "cheap" because it's not too often we remove struts from the coils and so this seemed like the best easy looking equipment. Save your money! I'm still waiting for a refund. I ordered it in February. A refund was "issued" in March and here is June and nothing in my bank account yet. Amazon is disputing it since two weeks ago and may take up to 90 Days! ... show more
