  • 2003 suburban z71
Color: blue C-frame
Worked on my chevy suburban. Cups are sturdy and does the job. Make sure to apply high pressure grease to the thread of the clamp before using. Great product at low price

  • Like the product description says, works with MOST
Color: blue C-frame
Worked out great for the 05 Civic (so 7th gens) and the 95 3000gt I used it on. Didn't work out for the 2010 Ford Escape I tried it on. Not mad at all though because it wasn't claiming to work on ALL vehicles. I knew what I was buying. The durability is very good! No issues with the allthread...yet. Do far I've used this on a few cars and then used it for other things other than balljoints. It's holding up well. ... show more

  • Does what it is supposed to do if used correctly.
Color: blue C-frame
I had a bad lower ball joint on a 2003 Tahoe. I had thought about "renting" a ball joint press from one of my local parts stores, but decided that, given the age of my daily driver, I was likely going to need this done on the other side eventually. They made these Tahoes like tanks, 220K miles on the original ball joint and all the other joints still look great.. I looked at Harbor freight and almost went that route, but I found this set for about half the price with next day delivery. This is the first ball joint replacement I have done, but have I done lots of other work on the truck so I felt pretty confident I could get this done without too much trouble. After several issues getting the joints to separate from the steering knuckles, (A Harbor Freight tool purchase) I went to work getting the lower ball joint out using this kit. Initially I had problems using this kit as it did not have a cup that fit my need specifically. I struggled to get the press to push out the ball joint on the first attempt. I actually deformed the cup I was using due to it not sitting correctly on the lower control arm. This caused me to have to use a file and belt sander to have to smooth over a sharp edge created in the deformation of the cup. I decided to sleep on the matter and try again in the morning. Upon first light I was back at it. I realized that the original manufacturing part had some tabs that were put in place to keep the ball joint from being removed. I chiseled those tabs off and tried using cups again. This time they did exactly what they were intended to do. I was able to press out the ball joint without too much fuss. One thing to keep in mind is that you WILL need to use a long breaker bar or cheater bar on a wrench. This job requires a lot of muscle to press out the ball joint. However, once I got the right set of cups and caps, and removed the locking tabs, the job went pretty smooth. The installation of the new ball joint was painless, but also required a good amount of force using a cheater bar for leverage. All in all I am very happy with this set. It did exactly what it was advertised it was supposed to. My only gripe is that the metal on the cups is a bit soft and deformed/tore, when I was trying to use it before correctly removing the tabs on the old ball joint. I suppose a harder metal would be more expensive, so I should not complain. For the weekend warrior or occasional odd job this set will do you well. If you are a professional mechanic, spend the money and get a better set. ... show more

  • Very Heavy Duty
Color: blue C-frame
Purchased to replace the ball joints on a 2013 Mazda 5 Sport and it worked perfectly. Easily pushed the rusty old ones out and pressed the new Moog ball joints in, using a 8” crescent wrench on the hex drive. The c-clamp must weigh 6 pounds, this is a very heavy duty tool. The guys that said it bent or broke or stripped while using it, should not be working on cars. ... show more

  • Works well for U joints
Color: blue C-frame
My truck is 41 years old, largely neglected and sits outside year round mere yards from Puget Sound salt water. This tool allowed me, a novice weekend mechanic, to replace all three rusted and failed u joints in a 1983 Chevy C10. Some of these u joints were so bad that black dust poured out where greased needle bearings should have been. First tried hand tools and it was immediately obvious it wouldn't work. Next I tried a 1/2" impact gun and the u joint was out in 30 seconds after a couple of minutes of careful alignment and pre tightening with hand tools. Very impressed with the results and saved a bunch of money while gaining confidence. ... show more

  • Works once
Color: blue C-frame
This product seems high quality and solid however after doing ball joints on one side it was junk. Starting on the other side the tool gave up and bent. I had to go rent a tool at my local parts store to finish the job. They sent a replacement but I had no use for it after the fact. Good for one use not for regular use. ... show more

  • Did not work for me
Color: black C-frame
Edit: although this press did not work for me, OMT did offer me a full refund so I am pleased with their customer service. My original review is below. ---------------------------------------------------------- When I got this, I thought I was saving a bunch of money compared to the price of a similar set at my local harbor-themed tool store. What I got was several wasted hours and lots of frustration. I had to change lower ball joints on my 2005 Dodge Magnum (this set does not provide the proper collars for removing and reinstalling that ball joint BTW). After removing and pressing back in the first ball joint (I ended up needing to use my torch and a hammer to convince the first one to come out), I noticed that the clamp started to bend. By the time I got the second knuckle in the press, the clamp was so bent that I could not keep it on the knuckle in any position. I had to go buy another press kit from my local tool store to finish the job. The other brand's clamp was much thicker construction and held up well and is ready for the next job. Lesson learned - do not buy the cheapest option or it will end up costing you twice as much! ... show more

  • It’s a ball joint press
Color: dark gray C-frame
Worked really good. I would recommend lubing up the threads before using. I just used pb blaster bc that’s what I had. Make sure the cup is centered before you apply with impact. It slipped a little. Case is cheap like others have stated. But it holds everything in its place. It made quick work of removing both a whole balljoint and a cut ball joint and reintegration was quite simple. ... show more
