So, I have to say, I never write reviews, but after purchasing two of these I felt I needed to. Yes, you read that right, I received TWO! So, I ordered one for my grandson for Christmas. He already knew what it was so we gave it to him early. I am glad that we did because he opened it and it wouldn't work. We thought maybe it needed to be charged so that's what we did. It still didn't turn on. We decided to return it and chose to exchange it for the more expensive one. We had the exact same problem! Are you kidding me? Was this some sick joke? I get two different Hover-1's and neither one works? My grandson cried so hard. It literally borke my heart because it broke his. You cannot explain something to a child that you dont understand yourself. If could give Hover-1 a negative star I would. I am that angry! So, after being burned twice we had to make a decision: do we exchange it again or do we wait weeks on a refund and buy another one? We decided enough is enough and chose to return it for a refund. Two days later we decided to go to Walmart and buy him one. We purchased a GoTrax Edge. It is AWESOME! My grandson opened it and right out of the box started riding it! He has rode it for about two weeks on no charge at all! It has literally blew my mind! I know how electronics are, things can happen during production, during shipping, etc. but there were two of these that didn't work! The boxes came in tact, no damage during shipping whatsoever. Both hoverboards looked perfect out of the box, so I have no idea why they wouldn't turn on or even charge. I will never again purchase a Hover-1 product. Period. My title for this review is "very disappointed" but I am more angry than anything. These things are expensive, yes, but to have my grandson so hurt by a gift that didn't work, two different times, is inexcusable. ... show more

Great product! Easy to ride for 9-15 year olds. However, Charge does not hold as long as advertised. Barely last an hour of riding. Charger pins are weak and prone to damage. My charger plug broke with just normal usage. Now have to shell another $30 to use it otherwise becomes an expensive doorstop. ... show more

I purchased this Hover-1 i100 as a gift to my 9 year-old granddaughter who wanted a hoverboard for her birthday. Her cousins all had them and she learned to ride a hoverboard using theirs. Her new i100 hoverboard worked perfectly from the beginning and she looked great riding it. Other siblings also rode it and eventually, just before the end of the 90-day warranty period, it would no longer calibrate and ride properly. This is a common problem with all hoverboards, regardless of brand. Tech support at Hover-1 was by email and they responded back to my email within a day. After following all of their instructions, I decommissioned the old hoverboard and a replacement i100 arrived about a week later. It’s been a couple weeks and the replacement hoverboard still works perfectly. When purchasing any hoverboard I would recommend buying the Amazon extended warranty. More importantly, any warranty is only as good as the company that stands behind it. Hover-1 turned out to be very strong in the support department: easy to contact and quick to solve the problem, even if it meant sending a replacement hoverboard. I won’t forget how they supported their product (and me) and will buy from them again. ... show more

Got this for my daughter for Christmas in the beginning of December. She got it on the 25th of course, and it started having issues with one wheel not performing right towards the end on January. This put the item outside of Amazon's return window and onto the manufacturer. Amazon referred me via a link to Hover-1's return and warranty page. I emailed them and got a response 2 days later. It gave confusing and pitiful details on how I was to take pictures of the hoverboard before and after their 'decommissioning' instructions. I did it all after watching the battery removal video and cutting out wiring that I'm still not sure was right. However, that part I couldn't make much sense of since it looked different than my hoverboard. On to the deal breaker though. I sent the email with the pictures and a week and a half goes by with no word. I decided that it was time to send a follow up email for any signs of life and to ask if I had done the wiring portion right. Nothing. I send an email requesting status at 2 and a half weeks. Nothing. I send an email at 3 weeks saying I want to know what's going on or I will pursue other avenues. Nothing. So at 3 1/2 weeks after the initial email, I contact Amazon again because I can't find a telephone number for hover-1.. just that same email for support. Amazon tells me that it's outside of their warranty period, which I was aware of. I told them I wanted to see if they would contact hover-1 because they might give a crap if it was coming from them and not some random individual. They said they'd give me a one time exception and refund me but I would have to pay a $40 restocking fee. I called b.s. Told them I shouldn't have to pay for hover-1 not honoring their warranty, plus I bought a 2 year extended warranty through Assurion on Amazon that was apparently worthless. They then told me they'd refund the 2 year as well as the hoverboard, and they'd charge the restock fee but refund it when they got the hoverboard returned to them.. SO... Amazon made it right but they still tried to get one over on me too. They should pressure their retailers to hold up their end when it comes to warranty. Not make us pay a 'restock fee'. Ill find out tomorrow if I have to pay to ship it back. Pic is of my 'decommissioned' hoverboard. What a waste.. was a fun little toy. Sucks that hover-1 is a lousy POS retailer. Scratch them off your list and get a hoverboard elsewhere. ... show more
