Do not wait to get these! I would give these a 1000 stars! I bought these because my child had gotten outside while I was asleep. Thankfully, my child was/is unharmed. As a single mother, I cried and felt terrible. Did I not lock the deadbolt? Did I not lock the lever handle locks? No, I did! My child knew how to open the lever handle locks and I was not aware! I found these and purchased them fast! The price for two of these is a great deal! I asked my boyfriend to install these. He asked where I wanted them. I said at the very top! I don’t care if I have to stand on my tip toes! Since, having these I feel more safe and more comfortable with my child not being able to get out and no one getting in. I got the silver ones because they would arrive sooner than the bronze. Color did not matter at all. They look and feel sturdy, strong and have some weight to it. This was very easy to install. The included screws are very short, so I would recommend using your own longer screws (3 inches is good) so it gets secured into the stronger part of the door frame. I’m sure this could get kicked in with similar force as what would undo a deadbolt, but this definitely adds some extra resistance, which is an improvement as far as security is concerned. For us, the main concern was making sure our young children could not open the door without us knowing. This works well for that purpose. One thing we have to remember is to not have this closed/locked when we’re out of the house. If the power were to go out and we couldn’t open our garage (or if our opener malfunctioned), our keys would be useless on our doors with these engaged. That would be a disaster. But for when we’re all in the house, or at night, these are useful. ... show more

Best part is the ease of engaging the lock: no special operations, just swing it home with a little extra force and it makes a solid audible click into place as the lock engages. Very quick and easier than locking a deadbolt. Way better functionality & security than a door stick. Removal doesn't leave behind visible fastener holes as the lock installs to the inboard side of the doorjam. Unlocking is straightforward but with some notes, it should be installed with some clearance to the door surface, just a millimeter will do as you don't want the protective rubber to drag on the door surface. Also, if your fingers are greasy it's more difficult to unlock due to slippery surface finish. I added some grip tape to the top and bottom to help. Unlock by sliding the bolt towards the door hinges (compressing the spring) to clear the lock and then swing it open. 10 out of 10. These locks are easy to install. The spring loaded latch works well. The finish on them is the feeling of billet. This keeps my door pushed tight into the lock and deadbolt. I have to cut a relief in my door to compensate for the width in the door frame. The negatives: the screws included are short and don't bite wood to well. Use longer more agressive screws if you can. This keeps my children from escaping out of my eye sight, and also protects us a bit more from break ins. Awesome purchase for the price, and you get 2 of them. The appearance is very billet aluminum looking, but they are heavier type of metal. They look clean and processional, but not elegant. I would buy again and recommend to friends. ... show more
