I got this to help corral my hubby’s canes, which have a tendency to fall over if they are simply leaned against the wall. It was easy to assemble and looks good. They even sent a few extra screws! However, I question the sturdiness of the unit for one simple reason. You are supposed to connect each section of the pole with a special, double-ended screw. One end of each section was perfect, with the holder for the screw easily accessible and the screws going in easily, without having to be forced. The problem came when you tried to connect one section to the next. The screw holder is at least 1” down in the pole. This makes it absolutely impossible to attach the sections properly. The screw won’t even come close so that I could ‘hook’ it in and pull the piece up while inserting the screw. Since the bottom section of the pole is solidly attached to the umbrella base, it could be lifted by that piece, but none of the other three sections are actually attached. They are simply sitting together. On the bright side, the arms can be turned for easy access to the coats hanging on them! ... show more

I bought this for my handbags and found it to be an excellent place to put my hats, caps, backpack, long umbrellas, walking stick, and purse if you have limited space AND I can hang an outfit there if I'm getting dressed to go out. Depends on where you want to put it. I put mine in my bedroom. It's about 6 feet tall and the umbrella basket is 10 inches wide and 14 inches deep. it very easy to assemble, light weight but very sturdy and does not topple over. I have some old walking canes that belonged to my dad and grandparents and a large umbrella that I got years ago at the company where I worked for 35 years. I wanted a container to put those in. Most of the umbrella holders were very expensive, but this one was reasonably priced. It was very easy to put together. I did it without my husband’s help. There are even extra screws provided. I was impressed that the screw heads are smooth and rounded. There are no rough edges. It is sturdier than I expected. I like it because we can use it for hats and wet coats as well. It fits in with a variety of home decor styles. It would be even better if the area that holds the canes and umbrellas was a little taller so that they wouldn’t fall over. (But it’s acceptable for the reasonable price.) I recommend it for anyone looking for an inexpensive storage solution. ... show more
