Wanted to give my entryway a little facelift, but also was looking for a much needed “dump zone”. Love the shelf (I added baskets also found on Amazon). The hooks and hardware are strong and pair well with the look of the piece. The bench is wide and perfect for dropping bags, Amazon packages or to sit while putting on shoes. This was actually really enjoyable to put together. All pieces were labeled nicely, the tools were organized well, and the directions were clear. I do agree with some reviews that say it was shorter than desired. And I would look to add legs so that the hooks are at at least eye level. ... show more

Assembly was not very difficult. The product is so well made it takes time to secure the pieces. I can't believe how nicely everything fits together... and it's sturdy!!! True craftsmanship at a very reasonable price. Will highly recommend it to family and friends!!!!

Nice and heavy, sturdy feeling. Assembly was a little more intense than I had expected but wasn't a terrible experience. Quality control could clearly be improved. We had a couple lock washers that were malformed, and joined together which left us one short. Luckily I had some lock washers on hand so I could complete the assembly. Some of the pockets cut into the wood for the bolts with washers to recess into were not cut well, there were splinters of wood blocking the pocket that had to be cleaned up before inserting the bolts. The locking hardware for the upper sides were not in line with the dowels which made it a little difficult to get the pieces to seat together. Some of the screws on the pre-installed hinges on the door were stripped, but there are 3 screws per side, so 1 or 2 stripped shouldn't be a huge issue. I think just under $200 for this quality would be ok, almost $300 is a bit too much for this piece. ... show more

We recently moved across the country and I left our “shoe tree” in the previous home. I needed something for our laundry room that could hold backpacks, shoes, and odds and ends from 5 people coming in and out. I looked at a lot of different options and styles on Amazon and ultimately settled on this one based on esthetic and reviews. It honestly is really nice. It’s solid and doesn’t feel cheap. Yes you have to put it together but it was pretty easy compared to a lot of other things I have had to configure lately from Amazon. It’s modern but also farmhouse, and coastal… it could work for any. I love that the shoes are hidden in the cabinet below. It just keeps things looking clean. Buy it! This is the one. ... show more

This works great for us. The dimensions were exactly as described in product listing. It comes in a lot of pieces but my husband and I didn’t have too much trouble putting it together. No signs of damage when it arrived. You’ll definitely need two people to assemble. Once assembled, it looks great and is sturdy. Fits in with our farmhouse-style decor. The hooks are strong and hold backpacks and totes filled with stuff. The hidden shelf underneath hides clutter! The bench is large enough for an adult to sit on. This arrived with a slightly damaged carton but was undamaged due to the way it was packaged. The assembly instructions were straight forward and assembly was simple. The connector locks were so much better than IKEA but assembly was about the same. The finish was as described. My wife is thrilled with the look and functionality of the piece. Ok, so it's a bit on the short side, but so am I. :-) This hall tree is pretty, sturdy, HEAVY, and rock solid. I'm a little 66 year old lady, and I put the top (down to the bench seat) together by myself. It became too heavy to move easily, so hubs finished it for me when he came home from work. For those who had issues with putting this together, do what I did - READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY FIRST. Then, set everything out by number, and READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY AGAIN. If you do this, it will go together smoothly. The instructions also tell you not to use power tools when assembling - that is so that you don't crack the few pieces that are particle board. So, if I can do it, you can do it, and when you are done, you'll have a lovely hall tree where you can hang coats, umbrellas, totes, and store shoes. Adding some bling to the top shelves added to the height. If you are wondering where I got the shoe trays (they are a PERFECT fit!), they are Iron Gate - 2 Pack - Compact Boot Tray - 16x18 Inch. Exactly fit in the shoe bin. You're welcome. :-) ... show more
