The heater is a good small size for the 35w. My only problems are that I had to zip tie my own suction cups to the heater. The suction cups that come with do not work. The second issue is the dial is not accurate and is 2-4 degrees F off the mark. You will need to monitor your tank and find the right spot on the dial. I like how small this was & it worked fine for a month. I kept the temp at 75 But i came home one day & the temp in my fish tank was 95 degrees. Thankfully no fish died . I turned the temp knob all the way down, slowly lowered the water temp in my tank & then adjusted the knob depending on the temp water. A week later the same thing happened, water at 95 degrees so i unplugged the heater & bought a new one. Im unsure if the knob is loose so changes on its own or what the malfunction was. EDIT: just wanted to add customer service reached out & issued a refund as well as wanted more info so they could fix the issue. That as nice. I did really like this heater. I just didnt want to risk boiling my fish to figure out exactly when/why the heater wasnt working properly. ... show more

(After 5 days) It does the trick. It is working well in my 3.5 gallon half moon betta tank. The tank is plastic and the sticker thermometer did not work well on the tank. It seems well built. No mark for the temp setting, so I max it and went down till the light came on. Had to adjust it a couple times to get it just right. FYI- the suction cups are useless. I used the suction cups from the air hose to keep it in place. all together a solid B unit. I would get it again. ... show more

bought the 15 watt for a quarantine tank that's 3 gal, first impression was that the cord was long and it was convenient to adjust the temp. product came with a temperature strip as well. easy to operate, it's basically dummy-proof. however, water the temperature refuses to go up after 2 days and stays at a stubborn 70F. the heater is placed next to a running filter to distribute heat, it's not directly next to the tank walls and it's fully submerged. the temp dial has the red light on which indicates that the heater's running and i've resorted to cranking the dial up to the highest temp (93F). there's been no change whatsoever even after 24 hrs. another let down is the temperature strip that came with the heater itself. my own tank thermometer reads at 70F but the sticker is bent on saying the water temp is 82F. the water 100% does not feel like 82F. 15 watts is advertised as acceptable for 1-4 gallons but clearly it's false advertising. i'm sure if i had this in a 2 gallon it might work better but as far as i can see just save yourself the grief and buy a heater with a higher wattage for nano tanks bigger than 2 gal. my betta is freezing and i'm disappointed. ... show more
