Put aluminum channels for light strips under our kitchen cabinets about 7-8 years ago. The old strips served us well but had got noticeably dimmer and seemed to be leaning towards cool tint. Pulled out the old ones and installed these and OMG what a difference! The reds really pop now, well ALL colors look better compared to the old ones. Not sure what the exact Kelvin or CRI on these is compared to the stated rating but they look great in our kitchen. The old ones got a LOT of use because we prefer them to the overhead light, these will also. Will update if they degrade quickly. They look so nice I'm looking for more places to put some. Adhesive was nice and sticky. I didn't cut exactly on the line as instructed but close to the edge of the previous emitter. This allowed the pads to be away from the cut edge rather than cut in half. Allowed for larger solder pad and didn't cause a problem on any of the 7 sections I used. Would love to post some pictures but our kitchen is not in a condition to display to the world. ... show more

Purchased Hitlights Premium, High Density, Neutral White (4000K) light reels plus their power supplies, connectors and wire to use for above and below cabinet lighting around our new home (7 individual above and below cabinet sections). Result looks far nicer than builder installed option which would have cost over three thousand dollars. I called Hitlights for assistance and their Customer Service Team (Pepper in particular) provided outstanding support to give me the confidence to utilize this custom, component solution and help me with exactly what to order. I had builder installed outlets located above each cabinet section. Our cabinets (and many others) have a gap or channel that provides an easy place to run wire from the top of cabinets to below the cabinets. For each cabinet area, I was able to plug in a power supply on top then connect a dimming transformer with remote, an LED strip length cut to specific lengh required for that top section, then connect to 18 gauge wire to run to bottom of cabinets starting point, then connect to the second LED strip cut to length to illuminate under the cabinets. The result was a custom installed solution where I only purchased the components I needed (7 power supplies, 4 reels, 40’ of 18 gauge wire, plus assorted connectors). I purchased everything through Amazon except for the Hitlights dimmable transformers with remotes (R106 single Color Remote Dimmer with RF Remote - $4 each) that I purchased from the HItlights web site. Pepper with Hitlights calculated and shared what type of power supply I needed for each section (60 watt or 24 watt) based on the lights I was purchasing and the total LED length included in my seven respective strings. She also shared the type of connectors I would need to complete the overall job without any soldering. The solderless connectors worked great and only thing I needed to do was splice 18 gauge wire together with some wire nuts I had purchased separately.     • Please Read This Before Ordering!!!

We ordered these high density lights for our kitchen cabinets, open uppers and underneath the lower cabinets on two different walls. The lights are beautiful and put off a tremendous amount of light - so much so that we don't really need to have regular kitchen lights on when these are plugged in! Unfortunately, what should have taken a matter of a few minutes to have these up and working, turned out to be days and days of working on them every night after work for hours each night. We also ordered what Amazon recommended to go with these for a "complete package," including the 24 watt plug in and light strip connectors in varying lengths. After the 2nd night of trying to make these work, we called HitLights and spoke with Ron (whom we now refer to as Ron the WonderMan, for his valiant efforts to fix the issues). First off, the connectors leave much to be desired, so if you cut the light strip to use a connector you are basically setting yourself up for potential failure. All other reviewers that say the connectors don't work well are correct. It has to do with the plastic ends on them and if opened more than once or twice, well, that's it. My husband, very knowledgeable about this stuff, even soldered the wiring to the strip connectors and it made very little to no difference. Secondly, on the 3rd night of failed attempts at success, my husband reaches over to unplug the power supply and it's hot as blazes! By now we have Ron on speed-dial, so he explains that we need the 60 watt power supply to run with high density lights, not what we ordered (the amazon recommendation). Long story short - do yourself a huge favor and call HitLights if you are wondering at all what you need to go with what! (We suggested to Ron that he supply amazon with information about what goes with what, and we think they are including that now with the item description). We are really impressed with Ron and how he took care of us by sending us all new stuff (minus connectors) to make it right (we did not ask him to do this, but he knew we couldn't use what we ordered), and now we have beautiful lights that work. We threw out the connectors altogether and did not cut the new sets he sent us! Huge suggestion: Don't cut the strips! If you have to, though, for your particular application, keep Ron's phone number handy...you may need it! Thanks for reading!! ... show more

The light they put out is great, but the adhesive is not, it sticks fine to my shelves but keeps separating from the LED strips. I replaced with a better double-stick tape and it's working fine.
