I bought two of these life jackets for our family trip to a lakeside house, knowing that two of the toddlers don't swim yet. The jackets were easy to put on, had nice bright colors and the whistle on the jacket was enjoyed a little too much. I'm glad I bought them and instituted a "If you're outside, you're in a life jacket" rule. In the blink of an eye, one of the kids fell off of the dock and bobbed right to the top. She was frightened by the fall and the jolt of the cold water, but her father was able to reach down and haul her up by the loop at the back of the neck of the jacket. My only slight criticism is that the loop almost -- but not quite -- tore all the way off in the process of hoisting the kid back up to the dock. ... show more

These life jackets are perfect. My twins love wearing these. They're 8 years old and wear a size 6/8 and these fit great on probably the tight setting. There's definitely room to grow but these are not too big. Perfect fit. They really like the cushion over the strap that goes between their legs they said it's much more comfortable than their old life jackets that just had a single strap. They enjoy the whistle on the front. It doesn't blow very loud when it's wet, you have to blow the water out first but it's s nice feature. It was very hard to find a non-toddler size jacket that still had the crotch strap so I was very happy to find this one. The crotch strap really helps when they're wearing it all the time in the pool because it keeps the life jacket from riding up around their neck and it holds it in place around their chest.
