Our family love this monitor and we use it daily. It was inexpensive and we have been very pleasantly surprised by its quality, especially at the price point it is at. Positives (almost everything): Portable. It's very easy to move both the camera and the receiver it you decide to (you can also mount the camera, though even with the mount, it's easy to move the camera). They seem to have a good range: we can have the receiver across the house from the camera, and it doesn't seem to have any distortion or anything. Simple interface: Set up was very easy; didn't even need to consult the instruction manual (though it's there and easy to understand if you want/need it). The menus are very easy to use. Picture quality, including night vision: Both are very clear. Not much more to say about that. It is also easy to adjust the location/position of the picture, either manually on the camera, or remotely from the receiver. Sound quality: Easy to hear baby when she starts to stir/wake up. Easy to adjust volume from muted to loud enough to wake up dad in the middle of the night. Customer service was able to resolve my issue with my previous unit. Fast and easy response via email with video to show the issue. Other features: The receiver has a microphone so you can talk to the baby through the camera. The camera can also play soft music. We haven't made much use of these features, but we did test them out and they seem to work well. Negatives: Battery life. With the receiver video left on, and unplugged, the battery starts to drain after a couple hours. Just keep it connected to the charging cord overnight. First camera purchase back in October 2023, the baby monitor stopped turning on. Despite it being charged 100% and pushing the reset button. Customer service was able to replace a new unit to me within a week. Let’s hope this new unit will last and not repeat itself. Overall: I would highly recommend this monitor. It's easy to use, has great picture and sound quality, and gives us excellent peace of mind when we're not in the same room as the baby. ... show more

Honestly, this monitor is incredible. We had the infant optics which broke after about a year, and I didn’t want to spend that much again. This monitor is not only less than half the price, it is SO much better. The light on the camera itself is so much dimmer which was one of my gripes with infant optics, I felt like the little green light on that camera was so bright that it kept my baby awake longer. The screen on this monitor is so nice and big and it holds a charge for as long as I need it to. With the infant optics we would constantly get a “signal lost” message, we have never had any issue with that with this monitor. It also was incredibly easy to set up; literally you just plug it in and that’s it, I did not need to even look at the manual. I could not be happier with this monitor, I wish I had gotten it from the start. Less money does not mean lesser quality. So unbelievably happy with this! ... show more

Call me old fashioned, but I love the fact that this camera has no app, no Bluetooth, no wifi, nothing. There’s no monthly subscription. This thing will literally work forever. It’s just a radio signal to a dedicated screen. The camera swivels which is great, and the visual indicator of sound is a great additive. My singular complaint is that the camera doesn’t swivel down far enough and isn’t a wide enough angle. This is remedied by just adjusting the physical position of the camera, but I’d appreciate a bit wider angle. I’d also like a dedicated volume button, but instead you have to go into the menu to change the volume; it would make more sense for a dedicated volume rocker. The night vision is fantastic. I recently purchased the HelloBaby Upgrade 5’’ Baby Monitor to keep a watchful eye on my little one, and overall, I'm very pleased with its performance. The monitor offers clear video and audio quality, which really helps put my mind at ease, whether it's during naptime or throughout the night. The 5-inch display is impressively sharp and provides a broad, clear view of the nursery. The camera itself is easy to adjust and can be remotely controlled to pan, tilt, or zoom, ensuring that I can always get the best angle on my sleeping baby. Additionally, the night vision feature works wonderfully, giving me a clear picture even in total darkness. One of the standout features is the two-way talk function, which allows me to soothe my baby with my voice from another room, a convenience that cannot be overstated. The range of the monitor is also quite good, maintaining a strong and clear signal throughout most areas of our home. However, there are a couple aspects of the design that could be improved. The monitor lacks physical volume buttons on its front or sides, which means adjusting the volume is less intuitive than it should be. To change the volume, I have to navigate through a menu, which can be a bit cumbersome, especially in the middle of the night or when I'm in a hurry. This design choice is a slight inconvenience and detracts from the overall user experience. Additionally the noise sensor light at the top is super annoying; I had to put black electrical tape over if because it is constantly flickering due to the white noise machines in the kids' rooms. Despite this flaw, the HelloBaby Upgrade 5’’ Baby Monitor is a reliable and feature-rich device that offers peace of mind to parents wanting to keep a close eye on their babies. It's easy to set up, and apart from the volume control issue, it's very user-friendly.
