This Hot-Air Brush is the best one of several I have tried. It dries hair faster and curls the ends of my hair under. It is better for improving hair health without heat damage to the hair. Most important the bristles on this brush are soft and easy on one's head. (Other brushes bristles were stiff and uncomfortable.) I had a bad experience with my last curling dryer, so I was fearful I might have problems with this one, but I haven't so far. This thing has a lot of surface area, so it dries in no time. I have long hair and it used to take quite a while to get my hair dry and styled, but this one not only dries faster but styles beautifully. In less than 15 minutes, I can have my hair dry and sporting a nice wave. The heat gives it a nice shine, too. The only trouble I have with this styler is that the ring at the bottom of the handle, which adjusts the speed of the dryer, is sensitive, so I am always accidentally turning off the dryer if I don't hold it high on the handle. That's a little annoying, but I'm getting used to it. But the power and design is well worth that minor annoyance. I really like the round cord, too. I have 3B/3C curly hair, and while I diffuse, I rarely straighten my hair, mainly because 1) it takes too much time and 2) it affects my lifestyle (avoiding any type of moisture, daily styling, etc.) too much for my liking. That said, I saw a YouTube video of another curly gal using this product to refresh her straight hair and it seemed like it might be a gamechanger. In a way, it is and in other ways, maybe not. Here are my thoughts: The brush design is definitely more efficient...physically. I have a lot of hair and using the standard hair dryer in one hand and a round brush in the other, my arms would get tired pretty quickly. With this, they never did! My hand got a bit tired from gripping and turning the barrel, but it's barely worth mentioning. This alone makes me more inclined to use this over the standard dryer and to possibly straighten my hair more often. It's such an obvious design advantage, it's a marvel that it took this long to become a legit thing. However, there are some issues, some of which can possibly be improved and others maybe not. First, I don't love the brush. I typically use a boar bristle brush when blow drying for more control and shine and because it's kinder to my fine hair. The brush dryer is plastic and works ok but is not my preference. Second, the air does not get very hot. I can hold my hand on the brush at the highest setting forever without scalding it. Other folks may like this; I prefer a more powerful dryer for greater versatility. Third, there's no cold setting or cold shot. Not a deal breaker, per se, but again, not as versatile. Finally, my biggest issue is how you change settings. The settings are on the bottom of the barrel, and you change them by moving this band wrapped around the entire barrel left or right. At first, I couldn't even get it to move because it was stiff and my hands were wet. It got easier, but this is a big design fail to me. I can change settings on my hair dryer with one hand, which is such a basic need for blow drying, I'm baffled with this design. I got better at navigating around this issue the more I used it, but it's still annoying to need 2 hands (and to have to dry them) to change settings, especially when you're dealing with sectioned hair. Other points that are not necessarily good or bad: 1.) it was easier to blow dry my hair but not faster. I find the brush harder to dry the roots, but because it doesn't get very hot, I can sit it on my roots for awhile to thoroughly dry them. 2.) The brush part is oblong, not round. I didn't realize this when I bought it, so was surprised. Maybe this was done to increase the surface area for the air to flow. I don't know if it means anything one way or another. Just curious. All in all, this is a great concept and will become even better as your proficiency improves. I'm not a gadget gal (I've had my hairdryer for like 15+ years and have no desire to replace it) and I would say this is definitely worth having in your arsenal. If I knew before what I know now, I'd look for one with more of the features I feel this product lacks. I'm also not sure how this will hold up over time...if it's still going strong in a year's time, I might come back and change my rating to 4 stars. ... show more

I never leave a review but just had to with this. Works great on long hair. No tangling and smooth throughout long hair. At first I thought it was big and bulky and be hard to use. Although it is big and bulky you get used to it quickly.

This was a gift for my mother-in-law who had asked for a dryer brush like this. She said it worked great for three months but then the brush completely stopped working - she says it’s plugged in but won’t turn on anymore. She did not drop it or damage it in any way. What’s more is that she said that the packaging said the manufacturer would replace it if it broke, but I have tried to contact amazon or manufacturer product support but it won’t let me because I’m outside of the return window. I have had a few of these in the past from different vendors and this one takes a bit longer to dry my hair but my hair comes out looking great, not along of small hairs sticking up and cools down quickly. the only thing I wish it had was the ability to take off the brush piece to make it smaller for traveling, but overall it is great! ... show more
