Features

  • Functions: Up/down, turn left/right, forward, 3D mode, 6G mode, rudder adjustment; EPP Foam Material: EPP material performs well in resistance to strong shock and its good toughness characteristic also helps prevent permanent deformation.
  • 3D Mode: With a 3-axis gyroscope, the aircraft can accurately lock the flight attitude, the remote control reaction is more sensitive, so that it can easily make stunts such as roll, somersault, and inverted flight.
  • 6G Mode: The aircraft adopts the 6-axis gyroscope achieves great flight stability. In any case, the aircraft will maintain a stable flight attitude as long as the joystick is released. This mode is very suitable for beginners to fly.
  • Power Brushless Motor: The built-in 1106 5350KV brushless motor runs in high efficiency and low noise, providing a powerful flight for the airplane. The aircraft can fly both indoors and windless outdoors.
  • Small/Big Rudder Mode: The remote control is equipped with large and small rudder settings. Different players can switch the rudder level according to different environments while the aircraft can be controlled more softly or flexibly. A small rudder is suitable for beginners to fly, and a large rudder is more sensitive.

  • Excellent brushless foam jet with a fun stable flight
Size: 3 Batteries
I really like these foam RC jets and this XK A180 is really fun to fly. I ordered the jet with the 3 batteries and seems to be the best deal. For around $100 you get a 2 channel remote and a brushless motor jet with a decent trio of 2-cell Lipo batteries with a balance lead attached to it. You can use the attached USB plug they give you to charge but I use my Imax B6 charger to make sure the cell are balanced to keep the batteries in top shape. I suggest putting on the landing gear if you land it in grass or other uneven surface. And since the turning radius is limited, try and fly in a larger soccer field or park. If you try and turn with little or no throttle is has issues, so make sure you keep the throttle at least half to maintain control. The brushless motors are loud and the jet screams along at a fast pace. The 6 axis gyro setting keeps the jet nice and stable during flight and if you decide to change the flight setting to the 3-axis setting make sure you have some altitude. It gets crazy and any wind has a tendency to diminish control and you may lose control unless you have some height. I think with the lightweight of this foam jet, the 6-axis setting is the way to go to keep it damage-free. The battery life is pretty good and I usually get 7 minutes or so before I bring it in. You could get more or less depending on outside temps or how aggressive you are flying it. Overall, you may see other foam jets like this on the market but most won't have a gyro for stability during flight and brushless motors. It makes a difference and you have more fun as this RC jet from WLtoys is a blast to fly. Update: Flew the Raptor in a 12-15 mph wind and did fine. You can almost stall the jet into the wind and full throttle and the brushless motor accelerate right through it. Be careful downwind as this thing is fast. I also recommend putting on the landing gear as it touchdowns nicely in a grassy field. I have flown another brushed motor jet and crashed it so many times. This one so far is very stable and well-made IMO. I would buy another product from this company. Update: Flew for about 6-8 minutes today and 40 degree temperature/light winds. Brought it down safely and was flying fairly aggressively as winds weren't a factor. Still had 75% of battery left so if my hands weren't so cold I would of had a lot more flight time. Update Sept 2021-took this out again for a late summer flight and totally missed flying this over the busy summer. It connected right away and flew perfectly in light winds. I'm not sure why people are having issues with this. Make sure batteries are fresh in the remote. Wait to fly when the remote connects with the aircraft. Put the lipo battery in the jet. Place on level surface so gyros are calibrated. Turn on the remote and should hear a beep and its ready to fly Update: Just make sure your following the start-up instructions. You have a "toy grade" remote with limited range. I don't get the other reviews but I've never lost signal or had a flow-away unless the remote doesn't make the beeps to bind with the transmitter. I've flown this 8-11 times and it has flown perfectly. Land into the wind and you'll have future adventures with the Raptor. ... show more

  • Good until pilot error
Size: 3 Batteries
Plane worked well until pilot error. Now it is on top of a three story apartment complex after starting in a park. It is FAST and can get away from you quick. Would try a smaller slower trainer if you are not an expert flyer, even with the gyro assistance

  • Very fun plane
Size: 1 Battery
These little planes are absolutely a blast. My coworkers and I bought 3 of them and have flown them nearly to death for a month. We're basically adult children. We call them the Vulture Killers because they're literally fast enough to run down buzzards in mid flight. I wouldn't say it's a beginner plane, just due to how fast these things are, but if you have some R/C plane experience and don't want to spend a fortune, definitely buy one. Just make sure to buy the 2 or 3 battery version because they only get about 5 minutes on a charge if you're aggressive with the throttle. The only cons: the controllers feel cheap, the planes look a little cheap, and it's easy to lose the nose cone rubber on impact. The gyro stabilzation on mode 2 can get a little laggy with sharp inputs or in wind gusts. That being said, they can take some SERIOUSLY hard impacts and fly again either immediately or with minor repairs (Professional Welder glue is your best friend on EPP foam planes like this) thanks to the shielded position of the motor, battery, and propeller and the reinforcement spar in the nose. They are capable of flying with no nose at all in fact! We've flown them straight into the ground at top speed, into buildings, trees, parked cars, light poles and each other and the noses have been broken countless times but they still fly great. The landing gear can take your worst pancake landings and will only need straightening a little after hard impacts. Best advice is to set the rear control horns to the innermost position to increase response (they're a bit slow to turn out of the box, especially on full throttle). The planes are capable of inverted flight, loops, barrel rolls, hammer turns and inverted loops with some practice on unassisted mode (no gyro). Overall a 9 out of 10 plane for someone who just wants to fly for reckless fun and isn't obsessed with top tier quality or looks. They're really more fun flying with your friends though. Have fun! -VK-01 ... show more

  • Uncontrollable
Size: 3 Batteries
Should have listened to the other reviews. The plane does actually fly but you cannot control it. It just kept going up and away, eventually it was too far out that we lost the plane. Save your money.

  • Get it
Size: 1 Battery
Don’t wait get it. Price is insanely cheap for such an amazing performing jet. I crashed it once and nose broke off but glued back together and been through 10 flights no issues. Range is quite good (flew back and fourth on a football field with no range loss). Only negative is additional batteries are hard to find. Otherwise this is a MUST buy! ... show more

  • love it and I don't
Size: 3 Batteries
so this model has a button to limit the gyro stabilization and a button to allow more throw. with both on easy mode, it is pretty dang easy to fly. The only negative is that trying to turn while giving it low throttle makes for a lazy turn, as the elevons need propwash to be more effective. Hit the button to limit gyro stabilization and you can loop and roll the plane, though both will be lazy with the rates on low. Turn on high rates and it can be a hand full to fly, not for a beginner. I almost wish the rates had a low, medium and high. I often fly it up high, then turn the gyros on low and the rates on high...and when things get sketchy I turn the gyros back on full. The only other complaint I have is that it has no on/off switch (why?) and that the battery door hatch isn't hinged. All that said, it is a pretty capable park flyer at a low price. I have several of the WLtoys planes, and most I have the same issue with, the ability to turn off the gyro or increase the rates is usually more than I like...I wish they would have a low/med/high option. But, they are all sub $100 rtf planes so, you get what you pay for. ... show more
