  • Serious bits. WINNER vs 5 other brands.
Style: M35-5/16-10pcs
I’m repairing and upgrading a utility trailer, I was going to have to drill 40+ holes through single/double layered 1/4” steel. I decided to buy several different brands of drill bits for comparison. I started with my favorite brand Dewalt, then ACE, Bosch, Irwin, Stinger, and finally GMTools. ACE failed, I drilled through 1.5” of wood, reached 1/4” steel and it broke. One of my DeWalt’s same result. B/I/S bits took 3-6 minutes to penetrate with oil and pilot holes. Frustrated, I ordered the these GM bits. Killers, eat steel! 3x faster than any other bits. You need holes these WILL make holes for you. ... show more

  • Decent, still through steel, creates heat had to let cool unlike my Milwaukee
Style: 13 pcs Cobalt
Pretty great, Decent, cuts through 2 inches of steel to make a steel ferrule for a brake cable, creates heat so had to let cool unlike my Milwaukee set But for 1/4 1/5 the price not bad. Was missing the size from my Milwaukee set I needed for the final diameter so I gave these a try

  • Great for aluminum and brass, OK for steel
Style: 115 pcs Cobalt
Broke a smaller bit drilling through steel but that was probably my fault. These work great for aluminum and OK on tool steel. Hardened steel will dull these in seconds. Good for a beginner machinist, and cheap enough that it's not the end of the world if you break something.

  • Have a good edge and hold up

  • Good bits
Style: 29 pcs Cobalt
I drill a lot of steel, both mild and hardened steel. So far these are holding up very well.

  • Drill bit set
Style: 115 pcs Cobalt
This was a Christmas gift. My son is a mechanic and was quite pleased to have a case with all bits in place.

  • Got the job done ….. but
Style: M35-5/16-10pcs
I needed to drill 3 holes through a 3/8” stainless anchor roller on a boat. Used 1/2” drill at 1000 rpm with continuous oil drip to remove chips. Needed 5 of these bits to get job done. Had previously tried Bosch HSS bits for metal as well as titanium nitride bit which didn’t work. Bit quality control was lacking - one of the bits arrived with a chip in shank. In another case the bit’s tip chipped during use. As I said at the beginning it ultimately got the job done when other bits failed. ... show more
