FINALLY!!! This is my third attempt at finding a hose winder worth it's salt.... Our house sits up about three to four foot above the driveway so the winder has to rewind going up hill. Even full of water I have to regulate the speed in which the winder retracts the hose. It's that strong. The prior two (substandard) winders could barely rewind after I drained the hose and that is if they didn't jam up inside the housing before rewinding fully. I wish I had stepped up to the Giraffe winder the first time I spent good money after bad. Great product...thank you Giraffe!!! ... show more

First thing, this hose is easy to use and it has enough water pressure for most tasks. I installed mine onto brick following the instruction manual. The wall anchors broke after a week and the hose mount fell off. I am unsure if it is because I used an impact driver to screw the bolts in and i may have overtightened them. The company were helpful enough to send out new bolts/anchors but I ended up using metal lag screw anchors instead of the plastic anchors with the bolts and packing the hole in with wire and the mount is fully secure now. They also sent another mount which I have installed at a different site on the house and I used TapCon bolts for that, which also worked perfectly. All in, a great product but I would recommend using either TapCons or lag screw concrete anchors if attaching it to brick. ... show more

I purchased two of these 11 months ago. They work great, except for two issues: 1. One constantly jams and doesn’t fully recoil 2. Both hose nozzles have cracked during the freeze/winter storm even after turning off the water and emptying the lines. I’ve had other nozzles that didn’t have this issue, but not really a big deal. ... show more

Had already bought one and really like the metal hanging bracket versus the plastic one. It’s so easy to put away for winter, just disconnect from water, drain hose and wrap back up, remove screw and lift off bracket and store it. So far a wonderful hose reel.

Second unit that has had this same exact problem. Brand new, never used, it comes broken. Giraffe tools customer service is of no help. One of these days I'll learn...today is the day...RETURNING! This thing is HEAVY too...that sounds expensive.

Edit to my original review: the seller got back to me soon after I wrote the review. They are honoring their two year warranty. Planning to update to 3 stars when the replacements are delivered. Great product while it lasted. Now ~6 months into owning it, its broken and leaking. The spigot from Giraffe and sprayer are also leaking. I just contacted the company to get a warranty replacement, but ay mu first call there was no response and had to leave a message. Not very professional answering service. Planning to update to 3 stars if they actually honor the waranty. ... show more
