I used this a couple days after another bleach (which it says not to do btw so not recommending) bc I originally bleached with the intention of dyeing over it with fuchsia and didn’t super care how great it looked but ended up liking the lighter look and wanting to keep it. Obviously it went brassy. I used the wrong level it wasn’t meant for hair quite as dark as mine, unlike this one. Had I used this one first I think the brassiness would’ve been much reduced maybe even not there at all. There’s still a tad bit of orange but I like it overall. I’ve always loved garnier products for dyeing, they smell so great and my always hair felt amazing after. This is my first time ever bleaching at home and I feel like the end result looks good. My hair never gets touched by heat and hasn’t been dyed or bleached for years so a double bleach within a week can be handled. I am deep conditioning and applying oil and it passed the sink or swim test so it doesn’t seem too affected but we shall see. Certainly no clumps falling out as some people on the internet like to say will happen, thank goodness ... show more

I use two boxes for my hair to not only lighten roots but remove color. I have colored hair frequently so I split the two rounds into each week. It really makes progress after just one use. The hair dye I use is hard to remove so the fact that it stripped it this much is impressive. Plus my roots are very dark and that usually only takes one round. It isn't over priced so overall it's a great product and I highly recommend. I added before and after pictures after one round. (Fyi my hair is wet and wavy, not damaged! Lol) ... show more

I’ve been using this to bleach my Asian black color to blonde with great results. It’s easy to use, just like regular hair dye. I usually leave it on for about 60 minutes before washing it. Pic doesn’t rlly do what I’m sayin justice but, The toner itself, on bleached blonde hair, I really like. However, my bangs and around my face were dyed a coppery brown, to make matters worse this was dyed over a strawberry blonde. So lots of red under tones. Hated the color, went to bleach it out with this and hair ended up turning cotton candy pink blended in with cool blonde wherever the brown was. I did use it for other parts of my hair that were blonde and they ended up looking great. I still have the pink and tbh it looks like I did it on purpose and kind of tones down the red splotches on my face from skin probs and don’t wanna bleach back to back. I’m js tho. If you have any red or brown tones you could well end up with pink hair, be careful lol. ... show more

I got this kit along with wella t14 toner, developer, clear gloss and Olaplex no 3. I personally hate it but other friends and fam say it looks fine. I think I have high standards for my hair and really dislike brassy/orange color in my hair. I prefer bright intense blonde highlights contrasting on my dark brunette hair. My hair lifts red. It looked very blonde when the bleach was on and I waited an hour for the bleach to process. I guess it needs to be more saturated. I washed/dried my hair and reprocessed it another 30 minutes. I guess it wasn’t saturated enough again. I toned it. I toned it again. It’s still a lot warmer than I’d like. I bought a blue shampoo/conditioner set that’s supposed to help with the orange. But really there’s no fixing hair that hasn’t been bleached enough. I will have to buy a salon visit to have the hair I want. If you’re just doing very minimal streaks, the kit works. It’s not for money pieces or bold/chunky highlights. It only comes with a plastic comb/brush that doesn’t have bristles like a highlight kit would (not paint brush-like). If you have dark brunette or black hair: The bleach product needs to be laid on really thick and sit for a long time, longer than you think. On the plus side, my entire set cost me $40 and the salon would have cost more. Others don’t seem to think I messed up my hair. Just me I guess. I still felt very misled by the positive reviews here and the lack of proper before pics to help me gauge if I could really do this. I wouldn’t have bought all this if I knew. It’s also so difficult to apply on yourself if you’re doing more than just a few streaks. Its difficult to see where you’re putting it and keep it from getting all over your hair. ... show more

It definitely lightened my roots a lot more than the rest of my head color. I put it on and I would definitely have applied more to the middle of my hair if I had known that it would pull up my roots so easily.
