I started dying my own hair when I decided to leave the professional world to stay at home with my kids. Corners had to be cut. The first time I dyed my hair on my own with the Garnier Nutrisse Nourishing Color, my hairdresser was surprised to find out I had used home color. She remarked that it was well done. It is simple to use and comes with conditioner. I really can’t stand the smell of the conditioner and find it overwhelming though I use it because it softens my freshly processed hair pretty quickly. However, I am typically pretty anxious to wash my hair again with my own products to get rid of the smell. Through the years I have continued to use this product with decent results. I chose it originally because it was supposed to cover gray and I was starting to get gray. Now that I have a lot of gray I realize that it really doesn’t cover the gray at all, at least this color does not, but the gray ends up looking like highlights so I live with it. I am satisfied enough with this product to continue to use it, however, if I ever found a similar color that would actually cover my gray, I would absolutely switch. ... show more

i dye my hair every 10-12 months with this dye. it permanently colors my hair, the only reason i have to re-do it is for my roots. the oils it comes with and the conditioner make my hair softer, but you will still need to deep condition or do a hot oil treatment (melt coconut oil, apply to hair, wrap in plastic bags, wait 60 minutes, shampoo twice, done) to get it back to 100% normal (or better than normal with the oil treatment haha) this wont leave your hair smelling like chemicals for days, and doesnt rub off onto anything. i naturally have dirty blonde hair, this just makes me a golden-caramel-honey blonde. however when i was a child i had red hair so that affects how dye act with me. if you are a red-head just know that you will still keep some red tints but not enough to be a "strawberry blonde". this doesnt look unnatural at all, and goes perfectly in my opinion to my fair/rosy skin tone. i recommend. ... show more

Had a great experience with 80 medium natural blonde!!!! I am in my 60's with aprox 75 percent gray. I tried the Garnier 93 light blonde and it did not take at all. It was a waste of my time. I decided to try again with 80 medium natural blonde and i am Very pleased. I wanted a light blonde so i would not have any root line during hair growth. I figured a darker blonde would give me the results that i was looking for . I now have a beautiful light blonde. I put it on the roots for 25 minutes. During the processing time of 25 minutes i added a little of the remainder of the hair color to the ends adding it in streaks. Leave it to an artist.cheers color at once on the ends. Leave it to an artist to want to change the instructions on the box, but it looks really natural. Love it! ... show more

Great product great value. I have tries all the others. Garnier Nutrisse delivers a great product. This includes a small easy open oil for the ends of your hair that smells good. I use this oil before I dye it , I rub the oil on the ends of my hair to protect it from drying out. The product covers my grey nicely and doesn't wash out. I use the light natural golden blonde it has enough highlights in the product to keep it from looking flat or one dimension. This product lasts me 6 weeks, I have shoulder lengths hair. Will buy again and again ... show more

I love this color. I have natural strawberry blond hair but the color has changed a lot as I've aged and been almost impossible to achieve through coloring. I've tried expensive mixes that look nice until my roots start to grow in and finally decided to go blond. This color weaves several shades in my hair, lasts well, and looks really good when my roots start to come in, so as much as I miss my strawberry blond, I have enough orange in the color that it still works for my skin tone. ... show more

    • It is like a toothpaste tube but metal
The only hard part is getting the product out of the metal tube. I have to push out most and recap the tube and then flatten it to move product to the mouth. It is like a toothpaste tube but metal. Sure wish they made it out of plastic. Perhaps they will change this annoying packaging feature. Otherwise the product is great. ... show more
