Really happy with this product. I was looking for a leakproof lid for a big Home Depot 5-gallon bucket to transport water to a campsite. I bought one of these and read some reviews saying that it's hard to put on the bucket. What I did was push down until one side until it snapped on, then I turned it upside down on the floor and sat on the underside of the bucket with focus on the edges until all the other sides snapped down. Very easy to use. The quality of the material as well as the simplicity of use mean that I really can think of no issues. The lid stays firmly in place when needed yet is easily opened. The color came true to the photo and over all I am happy with the product. Did take a little bit of muscle to install the rim on the bucket, but over all it was not a difficult product to operate. I've bought several of these lids in various colors to categorize items in my garage. Since I'm into organics for my lawn and flowers, I have a number of products that I use to maintain them. Rather than look through several buckets (I was using Home Depot and Lowe's buckets) for the soil amendment I want, I decided to color code everything. These lids do that job well. I use red ones for Lava Sand (a big seller here in Texas), green ones for Texas Green Sand and yellow ones for Dry Molasses, since the colors of those products are similar to the lid colors. I also have orange ones for My Home Depot buckets and blue ones for my Lowe's buckets. The lid fit those types of buckets quite well. The only drawback to these lids (and the ONLY reason I give them a 4-star rating) is that they have a piece of neoprene tubing which is press-fitted into the rim of the piece that snaps onto the buckets. The tubing acts like an O-ring, giving a near-hermitec seal betwenn the bottom ring and the bucket. The top (screw-on) piece has its own gasket. Getting these lids on my buckets was difficult, to say the least. Even with pushing, pounding, squeezing, etc., getting them on was a workout. Once they're on, they're fine, but getting there requires muscles! Getting them off is another story. If you have a low tolerance for frustration, don't even try it. To get around the problems, I've taken to removing the tubing/O-rings and then snapping them onto my buckets. That doesn't give quite as good a seal as having the tubing in there would, but it's nearly perfect, which is good enough for me. I've also taken to spraying a WD-40-like product onto the bottom rings before installing them, which makes the job easier. If there were ratings between 4 and 5, I'd give these a 4.6 or a 4.7 - that's why I say Almost Perfect in my review title. Bottom Line: I'm well satisfied with these products and wouldn't hesitate to buy more of them. ... show more

Really kool These work, they’re coo,l the direction should say position them in place, but press them down on the ground on a flat surface to squish them on the Pail so they go on straight and even all the way around and it is difficult to do so this is an important step to be sure to put them upside down on the ground on a flat surface and squish evenly. ... show more

I read reviews that said that it is difficult to get onto the bucket. One reviewer suggested putting the bucket upside down on the floor and applying weight.
