    • Not sure my dog is smart enough....
My Boxer loves when I step on this for him, but he doesn't seem to get the idea to step on it. The plastic hose connector is really cheap and broke within 20 minutes when the dog tugged on the hose. Toss it and buy a sturdy faucet Y and it will be fine.

This is the only water fountain that allows you to regulate the water flow; all others build up so much pressure that when my dog steps on the paw, the water shoots him in the face and scares him away. The regulator on this one allows for the perfect flow of water for his height. In addition, this fountain is plastic, so doesn’t get as hot as the metal, when in the sun, and doesn’t rust. The only problem with this water fountain is that the hose that comes with it leaks. We replaced it with a drinkable garden hose and now it works perfectly. If not for the hose, I would’ve given us fountain five stars ... show more

I was excited for this item because it had features I was looking for. Pros, it sorta worked. Cons; 1. The item which is a cheap plastic, came in a plastic bag...within a plastic bag. Surprised it came in one piece without cracks. 2. It was missing a crucial item which was the quick release component you hook to a hose. It's an odd shape so a store bought version doesn't work. I was able to find something that sorta work but ultimately failed. 3. I wanted was to get a hold of the seller to send me the missing piece. There's no way to contact them other than through the middle man. All they did was refund my money. The problem here is, "they" are acting as gatekeepers now....not just the middle man. This seller who could have just sent me the part is now out of the item AND money because this online store. I'm guessing the middle man isn't out anything but paying the people who might block this review. ... show more

It’s light weight and made of plastic, not cheaply made but if your pup is a hard chewer or just plays hard this won’t last because it’s not very impact resistant and few plastics can stand up to the bite strength of a decently large dog. Appearance is more about the function of what it does and visual appeal to humans rather than the intended pet users. PROS: Well made engineering-wise Easy to assemble Multiple switchable flow tips Easily replacable hoses Adjustable water flow rate Quieter than the metal versions CONS: If your dog or other pet plays with this too hard it will crack and break off pieces If they are hard chewers, it won’t last Low flow rate all together The water apertures come off easily because the thread is relatively course ... show more

    • Going to have to watch the water bill!
The media could not be loaded. Our water loving Siberian Husky LOVES this dog water fountain. It didn't take long for our dogs to figure it out (we have 2 dogs, but the older one wasn't a fan. He would push the button when asked but didn't seem to like the water in his face). It was easy to set up, just connect to the hose. We didn't need some of the other attachments that came in the box. It is really durable for being all plastic, though I will say that if it was just a little heavier it would be even better for our dog. He sometimes would get over enthusiastic pawing at it and scoot it across the cement. I made the joke several times that we were going to have to watch our water bill this summer due to how much our dog seemed to like playing with it. We are looking forward to next summer so he can play with it again. ... show more

Really fun for my dogs, but not extremely durable. The plastic of the pedal is cracking quite a bit after one summer of being well loved by 2 medium/large dogs.
