Bought this because I thought I only had 1 key fob. Found the 2nd one months later in the glove box(dead). I programmed this purchase to open the locks but after cutting the key, realized, the chip for the key was not programmed. So until I buy a replacement battery I'm using the top part of my "found" key fob (programmed) with the now programmed bottom half of this purchase to have 2 good, completely functional key fobs. DO NOT BUY. This product is NOT compatible for the 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008 Mazda 6 vehicles - I've tried, and even the switchblade that came with the fob did NOT fit into the ignition switch.

Works perfectly! Instructions for how to program the remote are on the seller's site and online. Took 3-5 minutes to successfully program. NOTE that if you are programming an extra remote, ALL remotes must go through the same programming set up at the same time or those that don't will not work.

Couldn't be programed to car due to wrong Mhz. My professional automotive computer programming expert said that the key was sending out wrong Mhz and we needed to switch chip boards. He got my already cut keys to work. But it COST me

    • No instructions with product
Just a note: if someone is replacing the key fob, there is a programmed chip inside the old casing. The keyfob will separate into 4 pieces the part closest to the key houses the chip. You need to use this part with the new key fob... Otherwise you would have to have it programmed at a Mazda dealer in order to use the key. More detailed information on programming should be given to the consumer regarding this product. ... show more

    • Wrong battery
I followed the instruction that came with Fob, but the remote fob did not work. Then, I checked old Fob and New one, I found battery is different. So if your Fob did not work, please check the battery.
