Features

  • Produces a larger flame, more heat & longer burn times. Be captivated by the mesmerizing flames while adding a warm glow to your patio, campsite, or outdoor adventure
  • Flame Genie's smoke-free and spark-free features make it the perfect backyard, stream-side, or wilderness fire pit companion for all outdoor enthusiasts. No more smoky clothes or holes in fabrics from sparks
  • Uses wood pellets, not firewood. Low moisture content of wood pellets results in a more efficient, cleaner burn than cord wood. Easy to handle wood pellets leave you with less ash to clean up and unlike firewood, pellets can be transported across state lines
  • Steel material with black powder coat paint finish. Like most black firepits, the black models will show signs of finish fatigue after the initial fire. This is because the top rim of the firepit can exceed temperatures of 1200 F and the high-temperature will burn-off any powder-coat finish
  • Bottom nests in top for easy transport and compact storage
  • Care Instructions: As black models are constructed of steel, store fire pit indoors and in a dry environment to minimize rust. Similar with BBQ grills, the exterior can be refreshed with a little sanding and top-coat with high quality high-temp paint.

Description

Mesmerizing flames are sure to be the topic of discussion as you gather around the Inferno by Flame Genie. The unique gravitational afterburner system generates longer burn times without the smoke, sparks and clean-up associated with traditional wood fire pits. Inferno by Flame Genie burns easy-to-handle wood pellets that produce minimal ash, making cleanup a breeze This larger model is ideal for larger patios.

  • Rusted in 2 weeks
Very disappointed. I've placed this 19" Flame Genie as an access point on my back patio area. I didn't want a fire pit as I didn't want the smoke and smell that comes with it. After just three uses the Flame Genie has a large rust ring at the top. I purchased and only used the hardwood pellets as instructed. It's summer time and there has been next to no exposure to weather in the brief period of time that the rust showed up. I posted an earlier comment about the rust to the retailer in hope that they would make contact and offer a resolution. There has been no communication from the retailer to this point. Bad product, cheap rusting steel material and an unresponsive retailer. Definitely NOT RECOMMENDED. It's really too bad as the smokeless fire pit concept is good. There are others, Solo Stove, I'll be looking for after taking the Flame Genie to the recycle. ... show more

  • Neat. But Needy.
It’s a neat little patio fire pit. It’s a bit pricey for what it is. I think $80 to $100 is more reasonable. Hints: know the difference between fuel pellets, smoker grill pellets, and horse stall pellets. Smoker grill pellets work but even the cheap bags cost $14 for 40 pounds. Some horse stall pine pellets ($5 for 40 pounds) will work, but some are so small they compact and choke out the fire. The best to use are the pellets specifically made for the wood pellet stoves ($6 for 40 pounds). BUT the big box stores don’t carry them and the farmer supply stores consider them seasonal. So they may be tougher to acquire during the warmer months. Expectations: 40 pounds of pellets will give you 2 1/2 fires (in the large Flame Genie). Adding pellets to an existing fire is an art; too many and you’ll choke out the fire. Not enough and you don’t get the fire kicking again. There still is smoke. ESPECIALLY in the beginning and also if you add pellets to try to get the fire kicking again. You have to use fire starter (blocks or gel) - even with the starter, I suggest investing in an electric charcoal starter because you’ll burn through lighters pretty quickly. Overall, the Flame Genie is neat. But kind of needy. Firebugs like me don’t mind the effort, but if you don’t like preparing for and tinkering with a fire, it’s not for you. ... show more

  • Burns clean and warm
I like this guy. We like camping and a campfire, but wood fires are a nuisance and propane arrangements don't seem as nice. The hardwood pellets, (pure pressed wood, no additives) are quite nice, producing a bright flame that is almost totally smoke free so you don't get chased around the fire when the wind shifts. It's pretty good at heat output. Drawbacks are that you can't really cook over it (roasting marshmellows is OK) and you have to tend it about every 10 minutes by throwing a handful of pellets on to keep the flame up, otherwise it WILL smoke some until you replenish it. On the other hand, when you let it go out, it quickly dies on its own so you don't have to drown it with water. And there's only a little ash at the end, falling handily into the receiver below. ... show more

  • Don't expect this to last long
Have only had this about a month. After the first use, the black paint coating was bubbling and chipping off. Additionally, it has started to rust immensely and has just gone downhill significantly after the first use. Have only burned wood pellets in it 3 times and this is what it has become. It burns very quickly and is fun to watch, but is not a product that will last. It can also be difficult to light the wood pellets, I used a blow torch to get it started, a simple lighter would not work well enough. It burns rather quickly so expect to feed the fire frequently. If the product had not completely rusted and chipped away, it would be fun to have for summer BBQs, but this has been disappointing. Would not recommend even for the price. ... show more

  • Low quality production
Was dented like others in several places when unboxed. Even though the box had not damage. After first use and left out in the rain the top started to rust. Looks like it’s sold out now and the price went up 50%. Was going to maybe try to exchange for a stainless steel one but that’s almost double of the black one now. Will probably have to return. Worked ok followed instructions and kept feeding pellets when flame started to die down. ... show more

  • Over Delivered!!
I researched this for quite some time and... This is one of the best designed products! When it was delivered yesterday, I couldn't wait to start it up. I picked up a 40 lb bag of pellets which was less expensive than firewood... scooped the required amount, added some liter fluid and this is what you see. I have the added benefit of living in a wooded area, so I pulled some twigs from the scrub oaks and dropped in. This thing went all night long. Disregard the negative posts. If you're worried about it rusting, it probably will.. put some paint on it or find a friend that powder coats. Think about the Science here. Fire loves oxygen (think Backdraft)! Hy-C figured out how to build the perfect smokeless firepit. I would give this 6 stars if I could! ... show more

  • Be aware! Issue with the black unit!!!!!!
Received the unit Friday. We used it Friday night. We were very pleased as it worked as advertised. The 19" was large enough for 4-6 people to sit around comfortably. Saturday I went to fire it up again. I added the pellets and noticed the paint had already started coming off the rim. You can see rust already. The side had bubbled and fallen off. I had assumed the black finish would be a high heat paint, 1200 to 1500 degree at least. Unfortunately it appears to be just regular paint. We've had a fire pit that has a black rim and cover for years and the paint is still in good shape so we know high temp paint will work. I anticipate the unit will continue to flake and rust. The paint could have been improperly applied. I'm just assuming it's a low dollar/low heat spray. So I'm somewhat disappointed in the quality yet happy with the concept. ... show more

  • Burns too hot / too fast
The pellets burn way too hot, and way too fast. To use this as a fire pit will require 2lbs bag for every 30 minutes of flame. Once the flame goes out, the heat goes out. I fully regret this purchase, and wish I spent the extra money for the ones that burn logs. Also, one use, and the. paint is gone from the inside. Don't save money here, because you will lose it fast in fuel (wood chips). ... show more
