I needed my very own grill that could easily go from place to place, car or no car. I saw this grill years ago just searching online for a portable grill and finally got around to buying it through Amazon. It came exactly as advertised. It's shockingly lightweight without feeling flimsy or cheap. It's a lot more compact/flat that I expected, which is excellent because that means it takes up virtually no space when stored. As for function, I'm sure it will work out just fine. All you have to do is put some charcoal under the grate, light it up and get to cooking. It can't be any more simple. Have some long tongs on hand, a metal spatula and one of those long-neck lighters. This grill is perfect for impromptu cookouts at the beach, the park, your backyard, for about 8 people (I say 8 because the grilling rack can fit up to 8 burgers, more if the patties are small). Number of hotdogs, corn cobs or shish kebabs, probably 20 or more. This grill is also great for vegans, people with food allergies and dietary restrictions--- instead of fighting for space on the main grill at the BBQ using cumbersome trays and pans to avoid cross-contamination, this little grill is perfect for cooking food separately without the hassle. It looks really good. It's not too cute to where it can't be taken seriously and it's not so utilitarian-looking that it is unappealing. It stands up well, is sturdy, and neat. HEADS UP 1. It comes assembled. Don't fall for the $99 "expert assembly" scam. It's literally a fold-up grill. There's hardly anything to assemble. The point is that it can be easily folded up and packed away in 3 steps. Open, first grate, 2nd grate. 2. You have received a damaged item if the pieces aren't fitting properly. Mine arrived with everything fitting together perfectly. 3. This was shipped to me naked with no packaging! If I hadn't been outside to receive my package directly from the delivery guy, anyone could have seen this and snatched it up. Overall, I would buy again, but it could use some improvement though. The good: Perfect for cooking for 2 people. Fits in small places. Cheap. The bad: The folding grill is a pain, it should be one piece, the hinged design not ideal for cooking/cleaning. There should be a clip to hold it closed when not in use, the grill is seldom still in the unit when we get it out to use. I bought this to cook Kebabs at a tailgate party. I used Thaan charcoal because it gets super hot and stays hot for 4 hours. I had the grill on the tailgate of my truck and it all worked just fine. In a test cook I learned it does leak some hot ash out of the bottom, so I now put a sheet of aluminum foil underneath to catch that. This is full on fire, all the time with no heat adjustment, but for things like lamb kebabs, it works just fine. And you can carry it around like a brief case. ... show more

    • Decent grill for the money, tough clean up and a few design flaws

This is a good grill for the money. If you are wanting something to leave outside, or that is going to last a lifetime, look again. I bought this in college while I was living in an apartment with a very tiny patio. I didn't have room for a stand-up grill, and the railing was not as such that a hanging grill would work. So I decided to try this. It works well for simple grilling application. It's very small, so unless you want to squat I recommend a small metal table (I used a mesh outdoors table). From there, I would place a pan underneath the grill for both stability and to prevent the soot and or hot charcoal from falling through the tiny holes in the bottom. I wish this item were easier to clean. It really is a pain as there is no good way to carry it somewhere to dump it in the trash. Since this item is used mostly for small patio applications (I suppose camping as well) it doesn't make sense why it is so difficult to clean. It folds up, which is a great feature for storage, but try walking with it full of soot after everything is cooled and it will begin to collapse and soot gets everywhere. I soon learned a little tin foil in the bottom to set the charcoal on is helpful for clean-up. Also, the joints where the grill collapses become weak when the grill is heated. I had to JB Weld mine back together after just a few uses, which was frustrating. The grates also warp as they heat, making them a little wonky in the grill. This would be great for tailgating as well because of the portability of the item. There are some flaws, but if you want a cheap, portable grill or are desperate for a juicy hamburger on the grill, this is a good item. It's cheap and it gets the job kind of done. ... show more
