  • Fire Maple for the win
Size: Square Version
I own several Fire Maple outdoor products and had some temporary issues with this particular one, but the company immediately contacted me, fixed the issue and even asked how to make them better in the future. This amount of customer service and product dedication has definitely earned my trust, respect and loyalty. The price and quality has made it so that their gear will always be a part of my Alaskan adventures, and has also earned itself a permanent place in my overland rig. ... show more

  • Perfect
Size: Triangle Version
The first burn made it patina very nicely and its big enough to have a full fire and small enough I've made it a permanent part of my backpack for hiking and fishing/hunting

  • Overall good
Size: Square Version
Overall the product seems very solid. However it does warp with the heat and one of the side for the bottom plat slides out of the supporting slot. This could be resolved by simply adjusting where the extra material is on the bottom plate. I personally would also not mind a heavier gauge version to prevent warping in general. ... show more

  • Fire hazard

Do not buy unsafe fire hazard. Debris falls out and will burn everything around it

  • Not bad, but not substitute for a firebox stove
Size: Triangle Version
This is not too bad of a stove, but it needs constant attention, burns out easily, and the wood must be carefully batoned and cut up. I took this on a backcountry trip for about a week. It works okay, but isn't really suitable fore open fire cooking using anything but dry hardwoods like oak or hickory. Softer woods like spruce, bitch or norwegian pine burn quickly and never generate a decent bed of coals. The stove offers no way to regulate air flow so its usually much too drafty and burning too hot or too quickly. It packs down easily, but disassembly is messy, sooty. There's no grill plate for it unless you pick up a different grill top. Even then, the cooking area, because its triangular, isn't good for more than a burger. Its a nice concept but fails beyond boing water because the heat is nearly impossible to regulate with fuel or air flow. If you're looking at this as a cheaper alternative to the firebox, as I was, you'll be disappointed. ... show more

  • Poor Design
Size: Square Version
Did you ever wonder why all wood stoves with side feeding ports either have sides that don’t slope or actually slope out from the top (wider base)? It’s so the burning wood doesn’t fall out though the ports as you’re using it. Wake up Fire Maple.
