I bought this because I'm in the army and I'm always training in the field, I got this because jet Boils are way more expensive, this is fraction of the cost, but I bought this on Jan 8th 2024 and today is Feb 3rd and I've used it a handful of times, but this time I used it the fire base started to melt and the igniter went out, but for 70 bucks to bad but I haven't even had it a full 4 weeks and it's already melting and breaking, I do recommend but I wouldn't keep using it and using and using it because of the melting, I have to give 3 stars because price is better then jet boil and it's been damn good,and it boils water fast as hell, I just wish it would last a lot longer Update from fire maple, they responded and sent me a new because I had a defect, they were quick and fast to get me a replacement, I highly recommend them, if you have any issues just give them a message they will make it right 10/10 I hight recommend ... show more

I used this a couple of times on a camping trip, and it met all expectations. The igniter worked perfectly, and started the fire immediately. The water got up to boiling temperature very quickly, and it’s super light and portable. The handle locks into place and is easy to unlock to fold back up for storage. I’ll be on another trip in March and will use it again then I’m sure. I didn’t hear anything inside the pot other than water as I didn’t have the ability to wash it out for the two weeks in the field and wasn’t going to have coffee flavored ramen oatmeal for two weeks. So I heated water in the pot then transferred it to another container. It’s very light, the fuel canister was the heaviest part, and it all Stowe’s nicely in a small package. and it’s for a better price than jetboil. ... show more

We bought a fire maple after many years of using a similar competitors brand. The fire maple capacity is much larger than the other one that we use it boils enough coffee for a full French press, however, it takes forever to start boiling.

Took this on a 4 day trip over the Idaho BDR while primitive camping. It met all my expectations and was easier to use than advertised. First use was odd as it took much longer to boil than it should have until I realized I was close to 9,000 feet in elevation! Look out Jet-Boil, these guys have a better or at least equivalent product at a great price... Do note - if you go with 230g fuel it will NOT nest and close all the way, to nest the whole thing inside the pot you need to go with 220g fuel bottles. Definite recommendation. ... show more

Quick boil. It will boil over (as you’ve read in other reviews). I’ve found & looked up a few tricks to avoid it. 1) don’t over fill - of course. 2) stay nearby, it boils pretty close or under 3 min. 3) I’ve tried locking the lid during boil & it seems to help - but then u have to unlock handle & is a bit of hassle. I have loved using it on a 2- 3 day hikes. One more thing, make sure to wash it well before first use. Friend of mine reported some kind of residue taste on his first use - but I had no trouble (I washed it out first - of course) I also like that you can pack in one small fuel container efficiently with the stove ... show more

No reason to spend more money on a jetboil when this thing works so well! Been using it consistently for 2 years now and it still works like a charm. I would say I'll reorder when it breaks but I'm not convinced it's gonna break any time soon. Very well made.
