The bolt lock was an easy install for my family member who installed for me. Install took mínima time, under 20 minutes to uninstall the existing and install this one. It has been on a week and so far no issues. Doesn't look or feel cheap, looks to be durable. As of now, loving the fingerprint convenience and auto lock feature as well as the programmable codes. Easy install. Easy programming. The auto lock feature is optional which I like because I don't care for it as I am in and out a lot while doing yard work. No longer need a light in the dark entryway at night. So simple. Haven't used any codes, just the fingerprint function. Always have the key on the keyring as a backup anyhow, just don't have to fumble around with a key when your hands are full. Great idea and really nice looking. One suggestion: on the inside latch mechanism (all black) I have put a thin piece of white tape so I can see from across the room that it is vertical or horizontal in the evening (unlocked or locked). Mfg might consider incorporating that into production. ... show more

The auto-actuating deadbolt of this (where the lock moves the deadbolt itself) versus a digital lock that engages the knob to lock and unlock is just a better design. I had the Schlage deadbolt with the knob on both sides that was engaged by an exciter actuator but it was super inconsistent. I'd been living with it for a couple years, and it got to the point where I was ready to go back to a key-only lock. ... Enter the Veise Fingerprint door lock... this thing does it all: Pass code, keyed tumbler (using Kwikset blank), finger print sensor, all in a complete and easy to use and setup package. This thing has worked every time, it's actually pretty amazing. For around fifty bux, I wish I hadn't dealt with that Schlage piece of garbage for so long. Live and learn. Highly recommend this product for anyone wanting an easy access, simple setup, and low cost of entry, digital deadbolt lock. ... show more

Everything about this lock is very cool: installation is straightforward, programming (for the most part. keep reading) is simple, love the timed auto lock feature, black finish is smudge-proof. HOWEVER, after much discussion and attempts at problem-solving with various phone reps—all very courteous and knowledgeable people—and after trying several replacements, the lock(s) refused to accept anyone’s fingerprint. And that was the main reason for selecting this lock. More good news: I moved up to the RZ07 and all is well. All the above good news and quick, easy, accurate fingerprints! Again, I cannot recommend customer service enough for sticking with me through to the end, including a full refund. Obviously, they are selling thousands of this model with no complications, so don’t hesitate to give it a try. ... show more

Lock arrived promptly. We had it installed by a professional locksmith, who also helped to program it (although this probably wasn't necessary as the directions are vey straightforward). All features work as advertised. The locksmith said it was a very high quality lock and he was impressed that the fingerprint option worked as stated. *Update* Don't be like me and not thoroughly read all the instructions and look at all the pictures. Something kept tickling the back of my brain about the lock that I'd missed something important so I went back and looked at the instructions and locking mechanism...I missed the part where you can make it longer! With some elbow grease and a dish towel (it is slightly greasy and kept slipping from my grip) I was able to turn the latch 90 degrees, pull out, then pull back the 90 degrees to lock the length in place and ta-da! It lined up perfectly. After feeling rather foolish for a minute that I missed that I easily put the front and back plate on and easy peasey the lock works perfectly and was SO easy to install. So don't be a me, if it is too short, make sure you have it extended to the full length before you give up. Original: Bought this a while ago and finally got some time to install. Apparently I did not do my measurements right on the front door because the deadbolt does not fit. The actual deadbolt itself is also smaller than the one I had previously, which just feels less secure. My old dead bold has a slot where I thought I'd be able to make this one work with it. Was able to fully connect everything, was excited...until I realized that it holds the lock (deadbolt knob may be better wording) about a 1/4" to the right of the unlock position. I'm sure there is a way I can fix this, I just got a bit defeated and gave up for the time being so I can go back with fresh eyes and attitude. I'll update it if I'm able to adjust it. For now, I can manually lock and unlock the door with the key, but the electronics don't work (they try) because the knob for the lock is not set to one of the three positions. I got this as a set, so I have one for my backdoor too. Now knowing the measurements, I checked between the two doors and the front door bore hole is about 1/2 inch deeper in than the back door (so I probably measured the back door assuming they would be the same, silly me). So I have a better feeling that the back door will go on smoothly, I just got frustrated and a bit defeated feeling and had to walk away from the project, so it'll be something I try next weekend. (I also have a different style of the same brand I tried next and that one just about ended me, I have steel wrapped doors and it requires three holes to be drilled in to secure it...hence the over-dramatic feelings, that one is the one I really lost it on). ... show more
