I don't write reviews hardly ever unless it's horribly bad or incredibly good. First things first the manual is not great its's very basic so youtube is your friend, but once its up and going it took my aquarium that we left over the weekend from a scorching 84 to 77 in about 2 hours.... we had fans in the room and everything to try and cool it. The unit did not come with any instructions on how to set the temp. I had to use the internet with someone else’s product to figure it out. It took me 2 weeks to get it figured out .

Had a cheaper chiller for 20 gal axalotyl tank that struggled to maintain 65F; paid around $270 a year ago. Finally stopped cooling and bought this one. What a difference! Just set it up two days ago and so far... No leaks, no tripping of breakers, good temperature control. Nice and quiet. Exactly what I was hoping for. I have my own pump so the one that came with is now my backup. Only Time will tell if it has a reasonable lifespan.

So Let me start by saying that I originally received the item in record time. The item worked properly for approximately 6 months. THEN the HORROR arises. I received an alarm on my apex unit that my water temperature was 86 degrees. I go and check it out and the chiller is running and the heaters are off. The Chiller wasn't chilling and was actually producing hot water. I am assuming the condensor is defective. After reaching out to Amazon they put me in contact with the MFG. This seemed promising as the mfg actually responded. Make a long story short they wanted me to pull the unit apart to diagnose for them. I am no electrician nor hvac person and this is a direct violation of Osha Regulations. I reached back out to the MFG and they said they would replace the unit since it was only 6 months old. They would replace through amazon. To date I still havent received the new unit nor have i received any communication from the MFG. Luckily, I put this on a credit card that I can have the transaction disputed with my credit card company but you have been for warned DO NOT buy this product and if you do you better have it setup to receive alerts otherwise you will come home to fish soup.... ... show more
