I bought this bag in 2019. It’s a good bag for a chef starting out on their knife collection. The bag has held up. It’s been thrown around and stuff dropped on it. Knifes put in and out without any knife covers and it’s still doing the job. One strap did rip off about a year ago but other then that it’s still going strong. Zipper would stick a little bit when you tried opening the pocket but it just needs to be used a few times. The size of the pocket allows me to keep a bottle opener, tweezers, piping tips and a few other small things in there. The little slots for pairing knives and smaller tools is kind of placed in a unsafe spot in my personal opinion. Other then that I love it and will hold on to it for a bit longer.     • It holds my knives!
I finally found a roll that has big enough pockets to fit the handles of two of my largest knives. The roll itself looks appealing and sturdy but I still have blade covers on all my knives. The leather straps are thin and flimsy. When I pick up the roll/bag from the handle, the center of the roll cover pops out and does not hold it's shape.     • Sent to a leather worker, me.
I bought this as a gift for a friend. When it arrived at my leather shop, I liked what I got for a retail price. The material was stout, the lay out was good, the colors all matched. Buckle, rivets, zipper,& clasps all matched. But the sewing had lots of unfinished thread endings. No worry, just burnt them and hammered them flat. They disappeared into the canvases. The correct thread was used in manufacture. The holes for the buckle were too small, oblonged them in a bigger size for buckling ease. Put on strap loops to hold the extra strap after the buckle so it wasn't flopping about.. And for manufacture? Such small changes are nothing to worry about, just my personal preference. I did add a brass tag with the chef's name on it in script on the out side. The thickness of the canvases will hold the tag nicely forever. I did like the recommendation of the knife plastic covers for use inside and bought them to be included. Keeping the high dollar .knifes from damaging the canvases and each other. Over all? Very nice for the price, will last for ever with a bit of care. And says, " A Real Pro has entered the kitchen or galley." ... show more

Product is definatly over priced. Shouldnt be more than 50$ for the quality it is. That being said it is still a very decent roll. I do like waxed canvas to leather, I find it more practical in a professional kitchen. The leather straps and bindings are a few mm thinner than I would like for the wear and tear I know they will go through. I do like the the size and capacity of the knife slots, but wish there was more room to put peeler, spoons, tweezers, pens, sharpies, thing of that nature. ... show more

My husband is a chef and was using a small weekend bag as his knife kit. The knifes were poking through the fabric. He needed a reasonable knife kit that wouldn’t stab him. This totally fit the bill! He has been a chef for over 20 years so his knife collection is pretty extensive. ALL of his knives fit and what didn’t, he found room for. The fabric is thick, so he no longer stabs himself. Unlike some of the knife bags/rolls I've purchased for the same pricing, this BY FAR has been the best purchase! It is a hard waxed coated canvas, but after a couple of weeks, softens pretty quickly and love that my knives aren't sliding all over the place when I open it up. And what's best about this knife roll is it will get better with age and doesn't have any nylon material which seems to always chip away after a few months of use. Happily surprised at the quality of my new Knife roll. I sport fish quite a bit and look forward to opening my knife roll next trip at the dock to show off my knives. Like a lot of fisherman I have more knives than I need but like to be prepared. This roll bag holds my long filet knives and heavy butcher knives too. The small loops are great as well for smaller tools and a sharpening stone fits perfect in the zippered pouch. Great Product for boaters and fisherman and looks great too!! ... show more
