Got this for hubby when traveling and staying in hotels. He grills a lot at home and said it was what he missed traveling so much. He loves this grill and uses it every weekend to cook meals for the week. Helps him not having to eat out so much and eat better. People at hotels have stopped and asked him about it so much he finally broke down to ask me where I bought it. He also tailgates with it when fishing or at the beach, perfect size to take. Such a well thought out design, and really high quality materials. Took this grill with me on a trout fishing trip and cooked right next to the creek. It handled everything well. The only thing I wish is that they would replace the plastic between the wood cover and grill with metal. Then you could flip the metal over and use it as a a cover for the grill! This is a really great little grill. It's lightweight, portable, and the top storage compartment is deep enough to hold a mess kit. I have stored tongs, a spatula, rag, cleaner, and a lighter in it. I was really impressed that the grill and charcoal got SUPER HOT yet the handles were still cool enough to touch (note: the side of the grill was very hot and will easily burn your fingers, so dont move it when its lit unless you have to). The only downside as others have mentioned is the lack of a built-in lid. As much as I like the detachable storage unit, I would have traded that for hinged lid. But I am coming here to add a hack I discovered. A 10x12 inch foil pan (the only size sold by our Costco) happens to fit perfectly over the grilling space. It worked great to hold the heat in and speed up the cooking. See pic- try it! ... show more

I didn’t like a few things I took it to do a grill on the weekend, is very heavy very heavy , there nothing to pull out the ashes containers so you have to wait until the charcoal is turn of and cool and again is very heavy to carrying around it just make no sense think about it will take a 20 point weight in your backpack for a grilling plus all the extra stuff you need to take? I doubt it, it looks nice yes but it just too heavy and is very annoying to wait until the charcoal is completely off and wait to cool down to get ride of the ashes if you ask me I will say stay away from it the hassle of carrying it is not worth the money ... show more

Works great and was easy to start with briquettes. Bottom and sides do get hot, so make sure not to put it on something you don't want to burn. Pros: Clean up was a breeze, pulled the coal holder out and rinsed it off. Used a paper towel on the interior of the unit. The finish on the unit was very nice, and the unit was well built. Cons: The only con I can think of is that it should have a metal cover that can be used for either grilling or killing the coals when you're done cooking.
