For years my wife (and occasionally me) had to open/close our screen door every time our cats wanted to go out on our deck. Then they got smart and "clawed" the screening to open the door. Over years the screening got ripped and replaced. There had to be a better way then us being the "screen door greeter"! Never thought about searching for cat/dog opening for screen doors, until I did and found "Hakuna Pets Essential Pet Door for Screens Doors" What a find!! Easy to install. comes with long screws to fit various widths. I went and bought the needed size instead of trying to break off the extra portion. Took a few days for the cats to see what they had to do, but once they knew the process, they can come and go as they please! Then at night, we are sure to cover the opening with the included cover, so they don't sneak out for the evening!! Used to create an opening in a cabinet to allow for a cat nest...worked better than the smaller opening I initially installed (the cats like to look out & this larger size allows for them to do that more comfortably).
