I love my heat press. I spent a long time researching before I bought this one and I was nervous when it arrived because of some of the bad things I had seen in reviews but it works great! It comes all assembled out of the box. I set it up and turned it on to let it heat up. It did have a bit of a smell the first time I used it but I expected that and had already opened the window before I even turned it on and it really was not that bad. It heats up in a reasonable amount of time and adjusting pressure is very easy, you just turn the knob. I do not find if overly hard to open or close and all my shirts have turned out great. I would highly recommend this heat press to anyone who is considering it. ... show more

    • PERFECT FOR BEGINNERS
I've been making tshirts for nearly 10 years and have gone through my fair share of heat presses - so I know a thing or 2. :) This is a wonderful option for those of you getting started but makes a great option for us seasoned vets too. You can go out and spend a bunch of money on name brand heat presses and yes they have some really great features but at the end of the day you need good consistent heat and good pressure. This does the job! If you are just starting out and don't have a bunch of money to blow on a heat press- THIS IS THE ONE! We have now purchased a 2nd ePhoto heat press so that my husband and I both can heat press at the same time- to keep up with our orders. We opted out of upgrading and spending the extra money and instead just thought why not buy another one of these. If it works- why not? I can tell you right now this machine does a great job. We use it for tshirts, mouse pads, onesies, and other apparel. Haven't had any issues. If your on the fence I would recommend giving this brand a try- save your money for other items you need for your shop/craft hobby. ... show more

    • Awesome heat press! Has made my life so much simpler!
I bought this heat press a while back and waited to do my review bc I wanted to see if it would stand the test of time and of course the work load I personally put it thru before I did my review. So over a yr later, here I am... This heat press works just as good now as it did the day I got it and did the first shirt in it. I bought this one as a replacement to a swing away I had gotten 4 months prior that went out on me after doing some larger orders during Christmas. Boy oh boy was I happy to get this work horse in. Not only has this clam shell 15x15 stood the test of time but it has taken on the work load w absolutely no problem what so ever and made my life so much simpler bc of it being much larger than what I was using before. It fits perfectly on my work table and is so simple to use. I'm on the smaller size and not exactly strong but I can shut it and open it with no problems and it gets the job done w even heat and pressure. So this is a really good heat press if u are in the market for one. The price on it was actually really good too at the time I purchased it. ... show more

    • Uneven heating problems are likely user error!
This thing is great. I thought I had a bad unit at first that wasn't heating evenly but I did some poking around online and found out that a common problem with uneven heating is too light of pressure. apparently this thing should really KA-THUNK when you lower it and should need a good hard yank to get it to open back up. Once I'd adjusted it it was heating perfectly all over the surface. Excellent value, excellent piece of equipment so far (I've only been using it for a few days). Open a few windows when you're using it, it stinks, but my birds aren't dead, so it can't be that toxic. It's very easy to use, the manual is extremely clear and the regulator has memory so you don't have to reset it every time. They could include the bit about pressure and it would have saved me a day of frustration, but overall a great piece of equipment for your studio. Also, preheat your shirts, it really makes a world of difference. ... show more

    • LOVE LOVE LOVE
I started my HTV adventures using the Cricut Easy Press, and I absolutely hated it. The vinyl never seemed to REALLY stick into the fibers of whatever I was pressing. Then I upgraded to this press and let me tell you, it made all the difference in the world. Everything I’ve pressed has held up so well. It’s quick and easy. You can even put something in, lock it, and get something else done. The lock function is awesome. The only con is it does have a very bad smell when it’s first used. I’ve actually only used it for 3 sessions total, with several shirts in each session, but the smell is mostly still there. It doesn’t transfer the smell to what you’re pressing. But just be aware that it will make your room stinky for a few hours. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone starting out that doesn’t want to spend a fortune. Side note - be SURE and use the Teflon sheet while you are pressing because it WILL stick to your uncovered vinyl and pull it up/melt it. ... show more

    • Warped Heating Platen
After missing the delivery date, I was thankful to receive the press at all. Unfortunately though, upon opening the item and using it, I found that the heating platen was warped. This caused for uneven pressing leading to handful of usable products. On the plus side, the color is accurate, but the cons more than outweigh the pros. Pros: - Arrived - Color is accurate to photo. - Slimmer profile than my previous 15"x15" machine. Cons: - Smells very very bad, even after the initial "burn off" period. - The heating platen on mine is warped leading to uneven heating/pressing. - The uneven platen caused me to ruin product. - Runs hotter than my previous machine, 375 F on this machine is significantly hotter than 375 F on my previous model. - The silicone pad is adhered to the machine. My attempt to lift it showed large amounts of torn pad and residue. - The bottom plate, underneath the silicone pad, also gets really hot for some reason. Hopefully my replacement works better, I have had a very difficult time with getting a replacement from Amazon. I have placed three separate orders with the first arriving late and being defective. The second not arriving at all and losing production time in the process and the third is currently "Out for Delivery" here is to hoping it arrives correctly. ... show more
