This is a well built and beautiful item. The new curved LED screen is awesome and it really does look like a fireplace. It provides either a gentle glow of coals at night (for a night light) or slightly more if you add the flames - which is what we do. When I wake up in the night, it's so comforting and hypnotic to watch the flames. The heater has two levels. It is quiet and heats our approximately 250 sf bedroom (smallish) in 10 minutes. it'll also heat the hall if we open the door. Once warmed up, the lower level keeps the room at a comfortable temperature indefinitely. It is fairly narrow and so doesn't take up much space. The glass on the front gives an even more realistic look. I read reviews of other models and noted that it's best to have a control panel in addition to the remote. It's so easy to figure out and use. Took Husband about 5-6 minutes to put the legs on (thanks guys for the advice about a Phillip's Head Screwdriver, I was ready to go). I can lift it myself if need be. As someone else suggesting, all you need is a fireplace app and it creates a meditative, warm and inviting space. Heats well, looks beautiful, seems very sturdy-made from heavy metal, fun colors for mood changes, crappy weak remote but is still totally worth having to change it from bed or the couch. I unintentionally bought the first one in "used-good" refurbished condition and it arrived badly dented and missing the remote. I returned it for a replacement that is almost perfect (only a slightly crooked hanging door - no bother) and we adore it! I'm SO glad Amazon made good because we love it and paid so much less getting it used, even though inadvertently. It all worked out well in the end! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. CONS: Color description says beige and I purchased this because of that. Now the picture shown looks like an off white which would've been fine but because colors can look different online I assumed beige would be beige whether light or dark. Now I have a light gray fireplace/heater that doesn't match my bedroom color scheme. Fortunately it works in my small living room. If it weren't for that I would return it. And that's another issue. It was pretty hard to get out of the box although my seven-year-old grandson finally got it to slide out. But if I did want to return it I guess I would have been returning it in a partially cut up box. PROS: It's packaged extremely well. It's sturdy metal and you only have to attach the legs which you screw in with a Philips screwdriver so super easy. It's certainly nice ambience with the different colors, though not quite realistic. It gives out decent heat for a small space and you can feel it about three feet away. There is an initial smell when turned on high but unlike some plastic items where it might linger for a while it quickly dissipated so that's great. It's not too small and of course not very large plus the depth of it makes it slim which is one of the reasons I got it. This was also on sale, $170, with a warning that the sale wouldn't last long so I can't complain about the price as I see it's gone up $30. It also a week early in five days so that was nice. OVERALL: I'm disappointed in the color which I think is taupe, but I'd also considered that once I got it, if I liked it, that I'd buy another one for my little living room so this color works in there so I'm ok with that. But the description needs to be changed to match what the picture shows. And that's why I'm not giving it five stars. It's nice, I like it, the family likes it and it fits an area that I wasn't completely satisfied with before which I like better now. WARNING: Instructions advise that you should have it 3 ft from a wall and not have flammable items close to it. I've tested it and the back does not get hot. I'd also planned on getting shorter curtains for the living room windows plus I can use it without the heater so that's not going to be an issue as I wanted ambience more than heat. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. We really like this realistic heater! Perfect for our basement rec room. Heats up about a 450 sq foot space quickly. Surprised how quiet the fan is. Unfortunately, the hardware was missing for the legs. I contacted Amazon customer service and they wanted me to return the whole unit. Ended up with a discount and I had to get my own bolts. I knew it didn’t have a thermostat. The way they describe the thermostat is just for a high temperature safety but it’s kind of misleading. Not a big deal when using the timer feature so be aware of this. Could cause your electric bill to go up significantly!!! Ended up finding a fix for that anyway so mine will cycle to maintain a specific temp. Great unit that I think has a realistic visual. It is smaller than I was expecting but still very functional.
