I would have given 5 stars, but I expected to get a controller when the title says RTF Basic Battery and Charger not included. Why not also say the controller is not included. Do they know? Did I miss some fine print? Anyways, I bought a DX6e and it works great with the apprentice and I had some good flights yesterday. ... show more

    • Must do for beginners
This is, by far, the best RC trainer on the market. The problem most people have with RC planes is not properly preparing the plane and radio. This requires that you get help from a person who knows. It's critical that you balance the plane as shown in the instructions. Then zero the trims on the transmitter. Then zero the control surfaces on the plane. Enjoyed the first 5 minutes of flying then all of a sudden while in training mode and next to no wind the plane malfunctioned and flew straight into the ground. I'm learning anything spektrum is not reliable.

    • Unexpensive and risky hobby
I'm a 44-year-old beginner, install landing Assistant modular, took it for a fly for the first time, but the wind kept blowing it upwards (11 to 7 mph winds) why would it be an issue? The thing is light, I tried orienting the nose towards me and even sideways but it kept doing loops and the wind keep carrying it higher.. Even in panic mode.. I took it up a notch to professional mode to gain speed but he kept getting farther and smaller until I couldn't see it anymore. Should a GPS modular helped somehow? The thing is so light and the winds not even that strong carried away. There goes almost $500. Should have bought myself a drone. ... show more
