I bought the junior and original size in these tubs since I often marinade meats overnight and also use BBQ rubs for some when BBQing that are left on overnight. Previous to getting these tubs, I used plastic bags for marinating which sometimes didn't go well when the bags had mini holes in them. Using this method, I sometimes had to clean the refrigerator after juices leaked from the bags. At least for me, it is sometimes difficult to imagine sizes for some products from measurements that may or may not be accurate. So, I opted to buy the junior and original sizes to begin with thinking I could get the largest size if needed. I'm glad I didn't get the largest size as it would not have fit in my refrigerator. One of my pictures show how much larger the original size is than the junior size. The junior size is the one with 2 chickens. I'm glad didn't get the XL size as it would not have fit in my refrigerator. It may be good for something that doesn't have to be refrigerated, but I wouldn't have a use for it. So, what do I love about these BBQ Prep Tubs? 1) The junior size is large enough to fit 2 4.5 chickens (as pictured). The original size is much larger and will barely fit in one of my refrigerators for curing fresh ham steaks that I times do. 2) These tubs are so easy to clean. A little warm soap and water is all it takes. 3) These tubs can be folded flat for storage and take so much less space for storage then plastic bins that don't flatten. 4) The height of these tubs have two levels in addition to the flat storage level. So, the tubs can be set at a lower level for foods that do not require height, such as steaks and some roasts. 5) Using the cutting boards on these tubs collects more juices than cutting boards with channels for juice collection. This is one feature that I love. I have cutting boards with the channels for juice collection, but most often, I have to keep paper towels handy in an effort to keep the juices of meat from running onto the counter. Most often these efforts are futile and I still have to clean a greasy mess on the counter and the underside of the cutting board. 6) The original size will be plenty large for curing up to 10 fresh ham steaks. In the past, I used a storage bin that required a lot more storage space. These Prep Tubs are so much easier to use and store than the alternatives. The media could not be loaded. I surprised my son by sending him this prep tub before Thanksgiving since he was planning on smoking a pork butt and bringing it across two states for our family gathering. He loved it! He said it made the whole smoking process much easier, especially with the included cutting board. All the juices stayed inside the tub, which is a huge win! His wife was also happy because the tub collapses and fits in their storage-shy kitchen. I highly recommend this product to any serious smoker. ... show more

After 2 uses the lid clasp have stress marks and one has already broken off. The first use was amazing, second use not so much. You can see the stress marks in the plastic lid holders, i suspect this was from being too cold when using it to dry marinate a brisket. either way it is now kind of useless to use as a transport of cooked brisket to a party, which it was bought for. *UPDATE* It's funny how right after someone post a negative review of this product it gets 4 5 star reviews in a row.. And the company never responds to negative reviews about returns, replacements, or refunds... DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT! the latches are defective and the tub doesn't stay up, the item is cheaply built. *Update 12/23/2024* Seller waited till time to return through Amazon had expired, then replied to my request for assistance. Their reply was to try and return it through Amazon, TODAY.... DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT they do not honor any of the products warranty or the horrible product construction. ... show more

Fit a 17 lb prime brisket into this capacious collapsible tub. Coated the brisket with a spicy rub without spilling rub powder all over the kitchen counter like I usually do. I snapped on the plastic and placed the tub into the fridge overnight. Opened the tub next morning. The tight fitting lid kept my brisket from drying out. Put it in my smoker for a 12 hour smoke!
