I have never had a good wood cutting board before. So when I decided to by one I researched what the best wood type to use. I also knew I wanted to find the new that was made in the USA. The fact that this was a small business was icing on the cake. It's the perfect size And is absolutely beautiful. Not sure I even want to use it for chopping. It came in a very nice box and included instructions for treating and caring it before use (I'm very new to nice cutting boards). I also didn't realize it served as a charcuterie serving board (which I thought was a plus). I do plan to order another board from this company. I'm not an expert on boards but I think I'm an expert on beautiful workmanship. And this is definitely done well. It's not too heavy and definitely appears to be durable. I really don't think you can go wrong with this board. I also appreciated the owners reaching out to me to see if I had any questions about the board and sharing a very helpful tip for usage. A beautiful looking board. Well made. Will make a nice cutting board as well as a board for serving. Indentations "handles" on the side make it easier to lift. Definitely a keeper.

    • Damaged in Transit but Quickly Resolved
Great looking solid wood double-sided cutting board. The first one I received was damaged in transit but I was able to get a new one shipped out immediately and painlessly. I prefer wood cutting boards not only for the look, but also because they feel great, food doesn't slip around, and most importantly they do not damage my nice knives. This board looks and feels great! Nice color, grain, very smooth finish, and very handy. One completely flat side I generally use for large objects like meats, the other one with a recessed pocket makes prep work a breeze! Over all, I am extremely happy with this purchase! ... show more

    • Quality product and good customer service.
Pros and cons on this one. Pros: Nice design. The stripes of various color wood are a very nice touch. Gives it a nice look. The handle cutouts are nice to have. I like the depressed area on the one side. I can think of many uses for that. Edge grain. Price is fairly enticing. Cons: In a word, Quality Control. At least that is my experience with issues like these. Firstly, it is not flat. I anticipated some warpage after moderate use due to the 1.1 inch thickness. Most quality cutting boards are 2 inches thick or more. However, this one needed to go through the planer several more times. Its got a very noticeable dip on one end of the lighter strips. Checking with calipers and a micrometer confirms high and low areas. It appears to have some crevices where the individual planks were joined which seem to be filled with something. It has a gouge on the flat face with some tomato juice colored discoloration. Worst is that it has a dented corner. You can see the fibers that are embedded in that dent. That is the protective material that lines the box. The cutting board box corner was dented as well but the outer Amazon box was not damaged. Leads me to believe it was dropped before packaging. Everthing taken into account makes me think it might be a return. But again the price is much lower than similar attractive cutting boards. Looks great on the counter Havent used it yet so can't comment on durability. Ill update my review when I have that info. Some of you may be wondering why I dont just exchange it. Well if the durability is not good then I wouldn't even want one with less quality defects. That and I really want to like this board and it seems like a small homegrown company. UPDATE 11/14/2019 The company has graciously offered to provide a replacement board, to include all expenses, without requiring the return of the original board. That is highly convenient as nobody likes going through the process of requesting and waiting for a return shipping label or even worse, paying the return shipping themselves. One of the founders also explained in detail the factors that went into design decisions and product testing results. Seems to be a decent company and thus far I'm impressed with their customer service. I'll report back on how smoothly the rest of the process plays out. As for the durability of the board, I am pleasantly surprised. I have used and washed the board numerous times. Using the same tests and measurements as the first inspection there is no discernable difference. It's holding up pretty well. Update 1/20/2020 I received a replacemet board in just a few days. Pay no attention to the timestamp on this update. I waited to do an update so I could report on the durability of this item. The replacent board had none of the defects that the original had. All measurements and tests have this one as flat and the same thickness throughout. My experience with using this board has been fairly pleasant. Dozens of tomatoes, carrots, over 100 onions, and pounds of cilantro and parseley have been chopped on this board. I'm pleased with the durability. No chips or splinters or discoloration. The combination of customer service and product quality means that I would certainly buy from this seller again. ... show more

    • Gorgeous and should last years
I received the board and unfortunately it had a dry spot. I wrote to the owners by email and they responded in a couple of hours! They offered me a discount and advised me how to take care of the dry spot, but I decided to return it to Amazon. I got my new board within a couple of days. I’m thrilled with this board. It’s beautiful enough to keep out on my counter and to use as an appetizer board. I’ve only started using it so I don’t know how durable it will be but by the look and feel of it I think it will last for years. ... show more

Actually this board is more than nice . It's well made , and rock solid . Lies flat , no curves , one side has a cutout to to hold things that might roll around . I don't know how anyone could not like this cutting board .
